Singing the song

Featured Replies

Would have liked to see the coach and coaching panel join in with the boys and belt out the song,

spirit building

Get the coaches in the middle.

One in all in...build spirit.

Hope they all sung the song together behind closed doors

That they did WYL, according to the HS. Included all players and coaching staff.

YES, AND NO.

I think his philosophy on this occasion would have been along the lines of "they pulled this one off today and should be able to soak it up themselves".

I liked the bugler popping up in/near the MCC when the game was ours and won before the final siren, with everyone clapping and singing along to Grand Old Flag.

Had some soccer like supporter arrogance to it, and something rarely seen with MFC fan (for obvious reasons) and quite reminiscent of the Collingwood fans elongated CCCOOLLLINGWOOOD chant.

Hated by opposition fans but I love it.

I personally hope to see more of it.

I think the HS is wrong the coaching staff did not get involved (judging by the two videos of the team songs on the MFC website).

And I am very happy the staff did not get involved. We won one game (had only one good quarter), I don't want the players or coaches thinking that they have achieved anything special. Yes I want the players to grow in confidence but don't want a false sense of security (beating a side with less experience). The players will have to regroup and hopefully put in at least a 3 quarter effort against the Lions.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
