noticed the bagging has slowed to a crawl???

now lets be positive

can we beat GWS and BRIZZY turn out 2/3

can we not self implode for the next 12 months

can we let younger players not be targets of media and demonland posts for the rest of season.

can we at least pick on other clubs instead of our own for the next month

Yes we can and we will.

We have just played 3 pretty red hot teams, and have learned alot in those three games.

Time to turn it on for four quarters.

Big Maxy will lead the revival.

Please let Maxy come in this week and dominate.

He can go a long way to lifting our clearance fortunes.

We can beat GWS but that doesn't mean that we will with our confidence in the toilet.

There is no way we can or will beat Brisbane at the GABBA. If we could not beat them Round 1 at the G last year then there is no way we can hope to even come within 100 points of them at the Gabba,

I like people's confidence but I have watched us the past 3 weeks and at the moment we wouldn't beat Dimboola 3rds. No offence to Dimboola 3rds.

Dimboola don't kick off their season until next weekend, I reckon we could get over them as we have had more game time

depends whether its a home game or not

Dimboola don't have Thirds as such but they do have U 17s Football AND Netball Teams.

We'd be a very big show against either. Come on.

dont know about the netball, dont think we have a wing attack to take on a 16 yo country girl with venom, who has just milked 500 cows and fed the calfs before the game???

They should beat GWS by 10-12 goals.

There is too much class up forward and too much experience down back for GWS to really challenge this squad. There are no excuses if they lose this week.

Brisbane, on the other hand, will run rings around Melbourne at the GABBA. You can bookmark that.

Yeah we won by 13 goals last year on the MCG but GWS are now fitter, stronger and older, we may not have 10 of last year's side and we got 8 goals out of Rivers, Bate, Jamar and Davey. It'll be no stroll in the Fitzroy Gardens.

I think even if he can't tap to advantage, with his size he should be able to (tactically) thump the ball forward. That would be better than losing all center clearances.

he played ok against the talls of w/c 2 years ago and its got to be a bonus for the team.

we have to be positive about the rest of year and look forward to good days. 2/3 after brizzy???/

And quick.I couldnt believe how quick their mid was when they played the Saints.

With Patton out (poor kid, ACLs are tough to bounce back when your that tall), that sholuld help a bit

A win could do wonders.

We have the cattle to play well enough to beat Brisbane, its a matter of will they come to play, if they can reproduce some of that first half form against the Weagles then we have a chance. Sooner or later Dawes 4 weeks are going to finish so it may give us a bit more bite up forward.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
