Moving mitch clark into the midfield and Jeremy Howe into defense seemed desperate, but in some small way it worked initially - Clark got two centre clearances, Howe took some intercepting marks (but couldnt keep his feet).

Sorry an utterly ridiculous post title LOL.

But our midfield was in part manned by 3 second gamers, two 18 years of age. We were never going to be in this match...

The strange thing is Neeld addressed this in his post match press conference but didn't do a great deal to address it during the trade period. Although Magner doesn't have elite skills he has the ability to get his hands on the ball first & should be in the side. Also Dean Kent would add something on the wing or across the half forward flank. The longer this goes on the more excuses Neeld is peddling out. I don't believe our Midfield is as bad as some people are making out either. On paper it looks ok: Grimes, Trengove, Sylvia, Jones, Viney, Blease, Toumpas are all talented players but Neeld is failing to get the best out of them.

Yeah true

Interesting that they had sylvia forward until nearly half time and Trenners forward as well. Seemed a little odd to me.

Wait, Trengove was playing??

I agree on Sylvia, why sit him in the goal square just to try and take a 38 year old Cletcher out of the play? Get him in the middle and if he doesn't perform drop him. At the very least give him a HFF he was useless down at FF.

The problem is as football players, they are not too smart - obviously Neeld has taught them about defending space - now that is all they seem capable of doing. This would explain why they like to run arround covering holes. They need to learn to attack as well as play on there man instead of being behind.

Sadly for most of our players - the demands of the modern day game are too taxing for their brains - which would explain why they handball into opponents on a regular basis.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     DRUBBING by Meggs

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
