Tony Shaw said we were weak for not standing up to the AFL. That the Filth would would never allowed to be bullied in the way the MFC were under McLardy. Gave our President a withering spray.

And he's right. What a sh1tful culture we have. No fight at all.

lol @ the Port fan phoning in. "No-one thought we could win". 90% of the experts picked Port.

Shaw like all of us do not really know what the AFL had on the Club. The threat to take the AFL to court was real. He might be right about CFC but we are not in their shoes. I always take critiques from certain ex players from other Clubs with a grain of salt because they have their own agendas. To me Ox's declarations yesterday mean more because he loves the Club and he has no alternative agendas.

you make good points LS but what i fear now is that playing to lose (which we did) is now part of the clubs fabric.

It has been accepted.

Now i am not saying the players think of it on the ground, but how much did they believe they could win yesterday? Before and during the game?

And if they lose did they just think "oh well"

No other club would tolerate yesterday. It wasn't the first time it has happened.

One caller doesn't think Watts would be worth a fourth round pick. Slight overreaction.

Slight being the operative word.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
