Ultimate Footy 2013 - Robbie Flower League

So I reckon we should get 1 more person and cap it at 10, given the draft is next week.

I just realised that i won't be able to make it to the draft (i might be able to pop in for a pick or two) but i'll set some pre-rankings.

Great to have you back guys! Still awaiting the others from last season, and there is also some room for any new players that may wants to give it a go.

I'd love to hear how your trip to Burma was when you return. I'd imagine it would be a pretty interesting place to tour. I'm thinking mid-March would be a good time for the draft.

Left Burma today IWAP, overnighter in Bangkok and off to India tomorrow. Might make a day or two of the Delhi test that starts on the 22nd, spewing I don't have my Dees jumper with me, always wanted to wear it at an International sporting event.

Anyway Burma is fantastic, Bagan and Inle Lake were the highlights. Bagan has nearly 3000 pagodas in a few square km's and they are 1000+ years old. Another 1000 or so were knocked down in an Earthquake in the late 70's. Shwe Dagon Pagoda in Rangoon is awe inspiring. It's a massive complex and the original, which is now buried deep within the main pagoda, is over 2000 years old. Legend says it has a hair of the Buddha at it's heart. It's topped off with an 80ct diamond and the whole place is covered in gold, jade and gemstones. You literally walk off the poverty ridden streets of Rangoon into scene of wealth you can't imagine. I went twice and the second time was on a full moon festival. You couldn't move, it was a seething mass of humanity.

If you're thinking of going I'd try to make it soon. The place is uninfluenced by the west atm but it won't stay that way for long. Hotels can be hard to find as they're not equipped to deal with the numbers flocking in since Aung San Suu Kyi gave the go ahead for tourists to return. Prices are fantastic except for hotels, supply and demand has pushed their prices up, but everything else is incredibly cheap. $2 for a 700ml bottle of the local whiskey, 40c for a pack of ciggies (found a brand called Red and Blue and stuck with them for the entire trip, just under the Red n Blue it says supremacy, if only), and you can fill your belly for under $2.

Sorry everyone else for this little indulgence but I'm still buzzing from the trip, had a fantastic time.

Think i might change the draft date to Monday 18th at 8pm. I have another draft on Sunday starting at 9pm so it would certainly make it easier for me. Anyone have a problem with this?

I will make the league public either tomorrow or Sunday. Think we need at least 14 teams otherwise rookies become a bit redundant which would be a shame. Any Demonlander's still wanting to join the login details are..

Sounds like one hell of a trip Furious D, and thanks, I enjoyed the read. Major jealousy happening here (especially with regards to going to the Dehli test). I'd love to go visit at some stage (pending approval from Mrs IWAP), and lets hope they don't get democracy so the place doesn't get ruined :)

Fine with me - i may have to still do some autopicks for some of the draft, but I'm pretty awesome at this game, so i think its only fair i have some sort of handicap :D

sorry for the inconvenient boys, but my brother is moving abroad for studying reasons this year, and that will mean he will be a little behind in keeping up with Ultimate Footy, and hes decided to pull out. I will still be in the league, but he wont be. He passes on his apologies. I'll make sure he withdraws from the league sooner rather than later

2. The reigning champ

3. Billy Bass

4. MaxTwenty

5. Saigon Saints

6. Galahs

7. Dark Days

10. Sporting GHRP

11. flying eyeballs

12. Ess Flynno

13. 7up

14. Archer of Loafcrosse

Lost the internet for about 6 picks in the middle of the draft, not too bad for India, some days the power is out all arvo. Very weak back line but not unhappy with my picks.

If anyone needs to trade backs for mids let me know and we can work something out.

I couldn't make it to the draft, but I guess in my Pre Draft I focused on midfielders too much, I have Josh Caddy, Brad Crouch Oliver Wines and Koby Stevens in bench, Willing to listen to offers if interested.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
