  1. If you need another player, I'm happy to join (team was dark days last season)
  2. I've changed my mind about Bugg and would like to add him as one of my keepers if its not too late. So Ablett, Kennedy, Treloar and Bugg
  3. Nominated Ablett, Kennedy, and rookie Treloar as my keepers.
  4. Hi guys, I was in the Robbie Flower league (like GM11) last two years, would love to play as well. I'm pretty good though, just warning you!!
  5. Is Ling too much of a nice guy to be a head coach? Prefer him to be the 2nd or 3rd assistant myself.
  6. Wines v Toumpas or Wines v Hogan? Hogan certainly looks the goods but with Clark/Dawes up forward I'm not sure drafting another key forward was smart given our glaring weakness in the midfield.
  7. Happy enough with my team. Forwards a little weak but my back's and mids look strong. Bellchambers/Hale combination should win me the hitout category most weeks.
  8. Draft starting in 20 minutes where is everyone?
  9. No probs man, probably for the better. I think 14 teams is enough so i've closed the league. Final draft order is... 1. Dyl's Pickles 2. The reigning champ 3. Billy Bass 4. MaxTwenty 5. Saigon Saints 6. Galahs 7. Dark Days 8. Macca muts 9. Gibba's best 10. Sporting GHRP 11. flying eyeballs 12. Ess Flynno 13. 7up 14. Archer of Loafcrosse
  10. Think i might change the draft date to Monday 18th at 8pm. I have another draft on Sunday starting at 9pm so it would certainly make it easier for me. Anyone have a problem with this? I will make the league public either tomorrow or Sunday. Think we need at least 14 teams otherwise rookies become a bit redundant which would be a shame. Any Demonlander's still wanting to join the login details are.. ID: 822191 password: jtoumpas
  11. Mr Steve did you get my PM? You need to click on messenger at the top of the page.
  12. Was fairly pleased with how we played. My run down on each player: M.Jones - Played the whole game in the middle and thought he was very good. Excellent hands in close, nice pace and spreads well from the contest. Magner - Got plenty of first possession in the stoppages but let himself down with poor disposal by hand and foot. Gillies - Seemed to be a bit of a general down back, used the ball well under pressure. Taggert - Very good first quarter. A couple of nicely weighted kicks to advantage and just looked comfortable out there. Went missing after quarter time though. Tynan - Looked a bit shaky with ball in hand. Had one nice bit of play where he came off a wing at a centre bounce, scooped up the ball, shrugged an oncoming tackle, and delivered a pin point 40 metre pass to a leading forward. Davey - Is a pleasure when he has the ball in his hands, just needs to get more of it. J Macdonald - Virtually turned the ball over every time he got it, will be concerning if he got many games this year. Strauss - One of our best. Not many long raking kicks from him but was good defensively and didn't waste a possession. Looked very self assured. Dunn might be a bit nervous. Sylvia - An ordinary game from Col. Gave away a couple of silly 'over the shoulder' free kicks and just lacked intensity around the contest. Could be a surprise round 1 omission. Sellar - Nice for him to get a bag of 5. Held his marks against some weak opposition, should be in front of Pederson for the Fwd/Ruck position. Couch - Didn't notice him much. Kent - Surprised at how agile he looked out there. Burned his opponent off a few times and delivered some nice passes. With his physique and booming left foot he could be something special. Jetta - BOG. Has flair and toughness. Tapscott - A couple of nice contested marks and some crunching tackles. If he can stay fit he will easily be part of out best 22. Davis - Was just ok, kicking not up to scratch. Terlich - Was very reliable in defence. Uses it well and doesn't shirk a contest. Evans - Just an average game. Ball drop when kicking looks kind of awkward. Nicholson - Played last quarter only. Needs to think more when he has the ball instead of just running around like a headless chook. Barry - Struggled to find the ball and made poor decisions when he got it. Not ready. Hogan - Barely sighted. Spencer - Competed well and gave the midfielders first use with some quality hitouts. Fitzpatrick - Nope. Pedersen - Only remember him falling over in a ruck contest.
  13. 6 spots still up for grabs Just to clarify the scoring system for any new players who might be interested in joining. There are 9 categories weighted as follows: Kicks- 2 points Handball- 2 points Marks- 2 points Tackles- 2 points Hitouts- 2 points Goals- 2 points Frees For- 1 points Frees Against- -1 points Scoring Accuracy- 1 points So if your team gets more kicks than your opposition for the round you will score 2 points. If you score 8 points you win the round. Teams consist of 18 players (6 Forwards, 5 Centres, 6 Backs, 1 Ruck) plus a captain. The site is very user-friendly and will only require you to log in for 5 minutes each week to select your team. Give it a try you will not regret it!
  14. Good to have him back. Shame he was absent for the first half of last season because he had a pretty decent side and would have been a finals contender. Viney a little underwhelming tonight in terms of his fantasy output - still should be a solid mid-round selection given the 'inside' nature of his game. Toumpas impressive seems to be a natural accumulator, knows where to run. Kent a potential bargain late round selection.
  15. Think its just the ladder order on the league page - so 7UP would have first pick if we were to start the draft now. The ladder gets jumbled each time someone joins, so once the 16th team has signed in we will know the final draft order. 8 spots still remaining CMON JOIN UP!!!
  16. Okay I have created the league - will PM everyone the password. Settings are pretty much the same as last year apart from a few minor tweaks. Season player signing/delisting limit has been reduced to 30 and "weekend signing lockout" is activated (players become restricted FA over the weekend). This means teams who are not quite as active will not be disadvantaged when it comes to signing free agents. Of course I am willing to change any setting if a majority of the league agrees to it so don't be afraid to suggest changes in this thread. Live draft is set to 17 March at 8pm (Round 1 starts 22 March). Tell me if this suits you, I can change it if necessary. EDIT: League ID is 822191
  17. I'll play again. Looking to go one step further this year after that crushing grand final loss. I have been an admin of a UF league before so i'm happy to to take up the reins if required.
  18. FB Jetta Gillies Frawley HB Strauss McDonald Watts I think Nicholson will be given the chance to cement a spot early in the season but can see him being overtaken by Strauss. Would rather Frawley play on the 3rd forward and leave Gillies/Sellar to play on the gorilla. Should free him up a bit so he can give us more drive out of defence.
  19. Most Kicks: Watts (Will play the sweeping role across half back similar to Birchall/Enright and rack up lots of cheapies) Most Handballs: Jones Most Disposals: Jones Most Tackles: Mckenzie Most Marks: Watts Most Goals: Clark (Fingers Crossed)
  20. Can't believe were after Brynes he is a spud, a 28 year old spud. People saying he's got good foot skills are having a laugh obviously haven't seen him play much. The fact he cant get a game in front of guys like Murdoch, Simpkin, Sheringham etc tells you something. Hope its just a rumour.
  21. Ooooh what a close game.....lucky win in the end. Thought i had lost marks and handballs and won tackles at the start of day, ended up winning marks and handballs and losing tackles. Captain Boyd 31 handballs what a freak. Commiserations to you Stonecutters, you probably had the best team this year but thats the way it goes. IWAP we meet again...this time i will not be taking you lightly be assured of that....
