The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah

Featured Replies

I fear you may be wasting these points on someone who seems to be locked into a 'they're all scum' mantra

His view would be common. And I understand it. I'd share it if Jurrah didn't have such exceptional circumstances. But if one hasn't grown up in his environment I don't think you can begin to understand his actions. But he's rightfully being punished.

Carrot Top has his views and he's welcome to have his voice.

In case you couldn't work that out its a simple equation.

You stated that all people in jail are scum + i proved that was not the case by mentioning Mandela = you aren't that bright

OK. Just to make your tiny brain feel happy: All people in Australian jails are scum. People serving time in OS jails may or may not be scum, but in most cases they probably are.

But more to the point woman beaters are extra scum with a big ol' red cherry on top.

Happy?

Whats with all the sympathy for this guy??? I understand the whole innocent till proven guilty feelings from the earlier court case but the guy has just been convicted of hitting a WOMAN in the face. He is a criminal and should be doing every bit of that time. So sick of the bleeding hearts in this country. You want to stay out of jail?.... well then DONT assault people. pretty bloody easy.

Aghh, Demonlands favorite son, Liam Jurrah..

So all Australians in jail are scum. But not the case in OS jails. Please stop. It's embarrassing for you and you're just getting angrier and mistaking it for wit

There's a movie called Samson and Delilah ,made in Australia.Next time you are on your way to score meth you should rent it out ,watch it and then go and beat yourself in the head with the largest ,heaviest thing you can find.It will improve your outlook and personality no end .

What is embarrassing is that you are defending a man convicted of beating woman. Use all your BS weasel words you want. He is scum.

You ought to take a big step back and have a good hard look at the position you are taking here.

I am in no way shape or form ashamed of my view on the sort of person he is.

You still here? I thought you were out bashing hookers or something like that.

By weasel words you mean English and logic? Yeah, sorry about bamboozling you there.

It hurts a little.

Dee, what I'm saying is that none of us can truly know where things are at for Liam, how much he's his own worst enemy and how much he is a victim of his circumstance. Better?

better

I return to my earlier point that you mistake anger with wit.

By weasel words you mean English and logic? Yeah, sorry about bamboozling you there.

You are defending a convicted woman beater. You can logic that one up all you like. Dress it in pigtails and slap it around, but - as a soon to be ex coach once said - it is what it is.

And sadly those here taking his side are what they are.

You still here? I thought you were out bashing hookers or something like that.

Currently casting pearls upon swine-to no avail .

I have a deep respect for working girls-they keep the depraved and disgusting from harming society .

Let's be clear. This comment makes others suspect you have very little credibility. It's a very strange thing to say as an insult to a Demonland forum member. But hey, as BH says its your prerogative to write what you wish. And I agree with that.

And again you dodge that you are defending a convicted woman beater.

Weasel words again.

Question: Are convicted woman beaters good people?

Let me answer that question with another. Do you ever feel like people don't tend to invite you to parties?

Oho! So that's the limit of you.

Let me ask you another instead: when did you stop beating your partner?

I'm done. You are a class A [censored], and an apologist for a woman beater just because he kicked a ball in anger for the club. You should be ashamed of your position but I doubt that it's something you are capable of.

Sad. Very, very sad.

Missing you already Einstein

Sir Walter Raleigh.

I feel like a small part of my frontal lobe just melted.

Good night RTG.

Liam's case is a tragic one but the right decision was made today. Liam is now a danger to himself and others. :(

There's no doubt Colin B that its unravelling for him currently. I'm not sure how he moves out of his current cycle

It must be a community protection thing. I feel sorry for him but I ALSO feel sorry for those who have been on the wrong end of his temper/poor choices.
I hope this situation can turn out well for everyone but it seems so hopeless.

Fair summary I think.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
