Plenty to like about Melbourne’s off-season moves

Blame that on the editor, that's the beauty of Journalism and other forms of writing!

Looked a reasonable article to me.

Pity a few of the media idiots do not read it!

They would never agree with it because it doesn't fit in with their dislike of Melbourne, it would interfere with their prejudicial view of anything we do. Imagine Barrett or any of the rest of the garbage that call themselves journalists saying Melbourne got it right.

Lets hope in 9 months time Robbie they have no choice

The icing on the cake for me would be cale Morton getting a dcm

He is contracted so unless you want to pay out his contract just to be rid of him it is not going to happen.

Cale's turn will come next year. Get over the fact he will be with the MFC in 2013

Only good thing is that he will spend all year at casey

Barrett has been having a cry all during TWR about MFC - and then he makes snide comments about our supporters when we attempt to defend some of the clubs moves making comments like "just like all Melbourne supporters who think they know everything about the club" etc - yes idiot there's a fair chance they probably do know a hell of a lot more about it than you do. No MFC supporter has come out saying the Dawes move will win us a flag either, they've tried to point out that overall we have done quite well out of this period albeit not being able to address every single deficiency on our list. But clearly Barrett's ego (what has he done to deserve one anyway?" can't handle someone having an opinion different to his.

Unless the alleged try out at WCE proves fruitful for him.

I agree we are doing well this trade period.. but if we end up losing Gysberts, Morton, Martin and Petterd for half-of-stuff-all I will not be as pleased that's for sure.

Those four are half of stuff all...

Those four are half of stuff all...

each of them has the potential to be a quality player for us. We are not flush with an abundance of others that the same can be said for. If we are talking swapping them for something else potentially useful, that is one thing - but it appears to me at the moment we are prepared to throw these guys out with the garbage which would be downright stupid. I already have a bad taste in my mouth with Moloney and Rivers gone for basically nothing, we are treading on dangerous ground if you ask me

Don't be unkind - they're worth between 75 - 80% of stuff all.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
