What ever happened to this label for posters? Must have gone out of fashion. Never see it anymore unless I got the spelling wrong?

It's like having a one dimensional game plan where you kicked along the edge of the boundary line...it was soooooo yesterday.

Lol, so much bad stuff has happened lately it is not a syndrome anymore. Plus it's been replaced with the new "in" terms- "wrist slashing" and "hand wringing" argh!

I am pretty certain syndrome sufferers didn't think we were going to be this bad...

Anyway, for the syndrome to kick in we would have to have a modicum of success to question and wonder when it will leave. There is nothing to be paranoid about at the moment - nothing is going right.

Modicum of success? When the hell was that?

The 50's.

The 50's.

Were you there?

All the people who would normally be flinging that label around are too busy screaming about the fact that the sky is falling.

I have never known what the acronym stood for. Was it "Melbourne Football Club S##t Sandwich"?

I believe it is Melbourne Football Club Supporter Syndrome. There is no second F in the acronym, if I'm not mistaken.

I can think of an F word to fit in there.

I'm surprised I haven't seen it either, I thought we were having a pretty good start to the season...

Well, in actual fact we HAVE seen it. MFCSS does not necessarily only manifest itself when we are traveling better than expected; rather, it can also appear when we are getting our pants lowered, but the form it takes is that of ridiculous optimism... that is, a few days after a 108 point loss to Wet Toast we were going to walk all over the Toigs. Now, after a football lesson from the Toigs, people are already spouting about how we are going to walk all over the Doggies.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
