Because the trade still stands - it has been there for over a day now and it is still there - I am assuming people have looked at it, or read about it on here, and it will go through on Friday.

And I have never said 'jcb should not be allowed to voice his opinion' so I don't know what you are talking about there.

All you should do is say your piece, try to sway others, but if they aren't swayed - respect that others don't think the same as you and get on with playing the game.

What the hell are you and HT doing if you are not trying to sway your viewpoints?

You can voice your opinion as much as you like. Here or on UF site, everyone knows that.

And JA and co. have answered your queries in relation to mapped out changes.

There's no muscling in, it is discussion -albeit- repetitive discussion. That's all.

And no one is saying you can't discuss the merits of trade(s) just as the replies questioning the points raised.

What the hell are you and HT doing if you are not trying to sway your viewpoints?

That is what we are doing.

I think you see people not agreeing with you as people not listening to you...

We are listening, we just don't agree.

Give me an offer- I do not want to be unfair .My offer to you I have withdrawn as it would not have been fair to others and I do not want to do an unjust thing to bring myself in dispute over trade deals like others.I also have withdrawn my consideration to offers to OMR also.I have protested my point of views, been ridiculed by it. So I walk away from this saga bewildered by the conduct of other/s. I rest in peace with my soul, while others which I have questioned can do the same.Whilst it is a game, many of us have taken it seriously, like I and have spent many hours on it.And we should have certain rules to apply to our game which should allow questioning others actions. Like the Mods on this site, there are certain aspects which we all have to adhere to, if not you get suspendedRules and regulations should be implemented here.I have asked for a committee, which have fallen on closed ears and as I have been extremely lucky to take advantage of the kind effort and extremely kind offer to allow me to join this league,I thought however, we have a right to voice our opinion and furthermore if we want to vetoe and explain our thoughts , we would not be ridiculed for it.

What's all that got to do with Shaun Atley?

And who's ridiculing you? You voiced your protest and had the right of veto. If you haven't got the numbers to engineer a change, you need to accept the democratic process and move on.

That is what we are doing.

I think you see people not agreeing with you as people not listening to you...

We are listening, we just don't agree.

At least I am voicing my own opinions not voicing a colluded one or one that you say, we, not I.

I voice my own opinions , I do not care if you agree.I just felt strongly enough to voice mine.As stated, I leave the right to voice there opinions.I rest my case with that.

I just want to conclude by saying: To D/L 7, to whom has been reading this site today, I personally want to express, that what I have said, is regarding the merit of your trade.I must be honest and say that I thought you were colluding with your brother.I made the mistake that you were Robbo's brother. I apologies for both points.ToRobbo, I am not spiriting the dummy and I truthfully have not protested because I am laying you this week. - actually, if Iwasn't giving you a walkover, I would give you a run for your money, even with your list, that may, or maybe not include Thomas.Your brother did explain it well, in his post.

Lastly, JA- I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to introduce me to Ultimate footy, play in the Demonland league and I have voiced my appreciation personally before,I do not agree with some aspects that have happened during this season. However, I have accepted majority rules and tried to work under current rules, I do not agree with all aspects. It is not you, that I have recommended changes,I have done so, to hopefully improve it for now and future years. I am surely sorry for any grief I have cased you. I thank you.

I have played it hard and fair, had a lot for fun, stirred and have accepted plenty back.I feel this matter has now gotten to of hand. I feel that certain people have tried to gag me, which no one will ever.I feel, I am being even feeling threatened.Sime would prefer me, not just to shut up, but to get out.Lastly LowerDeck, we have had some fun at each other.Disappointingly, I never beat you as a coach. However, regarding this matter re my protesting, I not going to be gagged.

I will move on and don't want to do any trade.Never said, I was interested in him.And by the way, you have had your viewpoints and threatened to walk because you did not believe in certain processes.I respected your point then ad still do, and stated it accordingly. And you wasn't going to accept majority rules.

I will and have always done so.So leave it at that.I will not stuff the league by stuffing it up wtth trades that will stff the finals.Robbo will win easily IMO.

All the best for the remaining period.

*sigh*

JCB, no one is gagging you or threatening you.

You have a right to voice your opinion and you have done that re Thomas/Scully trade.

Your opinions on the 2 and 2 picks for 2013 retention are well documented.

And the people have voted.

That's all I can add champ.

ToRobbo, I am not spiriting the dummy and I truthfully have not protested because I am laying you this week. - actually, if Iwasn't giving you a walkover, I would give you a run for your money, even with your list, that may, or maybe not include Thomas.

If you 'throw' a game, jcb you will be the one who is being 'dishonest.'

Just play the game on its merits and respect other people rights to judge whether this trade is 'playing the game on merit.'

I feel that certain people have tried to gag me, which no one will ever.I feel, I am being even feeling threatened.Sime would prefer me, not just to shut up, but to get out.

You feel threatened?

How? Has someone PM'd you with a derisory and threatening message?

I don't want you to leave jcb, but if you would like to make your own UF league for next season with your own rules and standards - then you can do that - no one will stop you, gag you, threaten you, or anything else.

I will not be answering any more posts regarding this matter but had to reply to yours. How is it dishonest if indeed I throw the game.I said , I was, how is that dishonest.I believe your current trade is !

Yes- I do feel threatened - yep, the opportunity to collude is massive IMO.It needs some sort of security to cover the possibility of this happening. And lastly,I am not a looser, like others whom have tried to get up my nose many times.Goodbye.

But I did accept it and moved on. I even apologized.

You should cool down and do the same. Your dummy spit is now turning into something uglier, which is unfortunate.

It is obviously 'dishonest' because you are intentionally losing a game.

You don't have to put up with us and our nefarious ways if you don't want to.

I am sure there are many posters on Land that would join your league for next year if you do not wish to be involved in this evil league...

But I did accept it and moved on. I even apologized.

I thank you for your advise. No dummy spit by me, just my viewpoints.By the way, cannot remember your apologies, but I know doubt you did, but wonder why? There was no need IMO.

But these trades including yours needed vetting IMO.

Protesting is one thing, but threatening to spoil the game for everyone else isn't the way to go.

C'mon JCB ... time to chill and let it go.

Home from work to another two pages on this situation.

JCB - Just to confirm are you actually leaving the Comp over this trade? or have you stated your opinion & you are moving on & staying in the comp?

I would be very dissapointed if both yourself & DL7 quit the comp over this.

Time for cool heads to kick in here, agree to disagree & reload for this weeks game's.

LIke I stated earlier if you leave I will be reconsidering my position in this comp also.

We had 100% retention rate this season why the fark have we imploded in year 2.

We have all agreed to review Keepers after next year if it's causing unrepairable damage we will abandon it.

Everyone calm down, hang in there & stay on course.

Finally anyone interested in Nathan Jones?

OMR, I think you are on the money. First and foremost, it has unfortunately inadvertedly been my problem. I would like to stress that it was obviously not my intention to cause this much outcry; honestly I was just trying to situate myself best for next years game. Everyone may well say oh it was so in his favour, but essentially what I did was trade Robbo a player for 4 weeks for a number 1 pick I get to keep all of next year. If anything, I actually think I win hands down. Robbo and I have no relationship, nor do I have any relations with any of the players of our game. I simply became friends with most of them through last year and this year's competition. Yes, there are some players I may trade more frequently with but that doesn't change my decision.

JCB, I accept what I consider to be your somewhat apology; I have no issues with you questioning the trade but the personal comments were unjust and for someone who cares so much about the competition to say I was single handedly wrecking it was simply unfair and unreasonable.

This game is so fun because of the people I play it with. The last few days have been ridiculous and a black mark for this thread but I hope it does not bring down the competition. As I mentioned whether this trade goes through does not bother me- if you want to veto it, I'm not forcing you to not. The rules were set in place for the keeper system and whilst the quality of player and 'ranking' may be different, the cold hard stats aren't that different. Extra kicks, less handballs, more marks, less tackles and half a goal more a game is what Robbo is getting. I'm not trading out a gun for a non-playing injury, I'm situating myself for next year whilst also maintaining a player who will be in my starting line up.

I am sorry JCB and anyone who else has been upset or feels negatively impacted by this trade. The beauty of this league is that the majority will win and like the keeper system vote (in which my suggestion actually lost out), you don't always win. If the majority choose this is unfair before it goes through and it gets vetoed there will be no attempt to put it through again or sooking, but it doesn't change my view that I'm happy with my decision.

Sorry for the long winded nothing response readers just wanted to clear the air.

Furthermore who am I kidding, there's no chance I'd be able to give in this game.

Over and out, DL7

Goodonya DL7. Live to fight another day.

It's peace pipe time broskis. Group hug.

Now, who wants to offer me their prize keeper for a showbag of guns from my list?

Again I restate my apology on a personal level, but I do not withdraw my point of view re the trade.I understand why? From your perspective but, from a winner from last year, I believe you also understand why I have protested. In some ways,I honestly believe your trade gives Robbo the P/ ship on a plate. This year has not been as much fun as last year IMO.

As stated previously, I genuinely thought you were Robbo's brother, but it was the trade that I was trying to vetoe.JA did not give his best last week IMO,he could have recruited to offset vacancies. The trade that HT is trying to get through- WOW.And when yours arose I went off for the reasons already stated. Then I have had two others whom either did not want me to say what I was doing- they were never going to shut me up.All I want is to be able to do my best in an uncompromised situation

However, I am deeply sorry for upsetting you however, feel to give a fair season this year with only 3 weeks to finals it is unfair to all current coaches in the finals, and others trying toget there.I believe you would not appreciate it if you were in our current positions.I would like all parties to reconsider these trades and let the current season be fair to all.

I will stay on if you do too. However, when the season is over, I hope things are sorted out so we can enjoy it like last years and do not have to compromise our lists etc, like now.

I genuinely hope you do not get offers that may again compromise this season.

DL7 & JCB - Welcome back boy's

Group Hug, Hi 5, all brothers revealed, now lets all switch on for the run home.

I actually agree with JCB this season has not had the mojo of 2011

As much as I like the Keepers concept I hate the fact that several teams are no longer competing in the current season.

I guess we will all have a better idea at the end of 2013 which way to move forward.

I don't quite understand why people think that teams aren't trying because of the Keeper rule.

If it wasn't for keeper and teams were still struggling we'd still have the same problem - that's fantasy footy.

FWIW I think it's a clever trade that uses the rules well.

The only thing I've not been thrilled about is that I initially drafted with the 4 keepers in mind - hence picking quite a few young players who I thought would be guns over some other players. At the end of the day, however, that's what the group voted and I'll happily go along with it because it's all a bit of fun.

For those that aren't leaving the league, there is an IPhone App. http://itunes.apple....87240?ls=1&mt=8

Yeah, cheers for that.

Optus won't let me DL that at the moment so I will wait till my wonderul wifi at home.

Oh, wifi, I sometimes take you for granted...

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
