Ultimate Footy - Norm Smith League

Yep - somewhat similar to me last week. And are you questioning my character, you should be suspended or even thrown out. How dare you.!

lol

Get out of bed and go for a walk.

Get some fresh air.

I don't have an issue with you,I just want to point out to other coaches that this league has got off track a little this year.

Nor I you, don't throw a game it's pointless, veto the trade if enough people veto the trade then it will not go through! I agree that dale Thomas is a better player, and if I had the choice of the two I would take Thomas, but Scully is a keeper and it just depends the value that people put on a player they can have next year!

The top 8 is hotly contested throwing a game 15-0 could see you fall out, I suggest you try win this week and throw the game next week against me :)

Trades are hard especially due to different peoples opinions on players, and I feel it's been tough to find lost of win win trades and I definitely have thrown out several heavily one sided trades.

In regards to ziebell thanks, but no thanks I have something in the works

As I always say, fair is fair, what happens this week will happen next week.Trades are usually fair. This one is ridiculous IMO. A coach is only as good as its players, you found this out last year.DL 7 won it.DL7 knows what I have been driving at.My driver is to obtain fair trades, the one you are doing with RR is also unfair IMO.I have voiced my opinion/s.Others have stuffed up this league this year not me.Last year I was stuffed up as well.Whilst it is a game, I like others take it seriously. I, like others have spent a lot of time to be competitive, I lost 3 major players in the first few rounds.I am not spending the time to be competitive to let unreasonable trades go through the las week of trades and two weeks before the finals.

Understandable, so have I, I put hours in trying to sort my draft out and I have used 20/30 signings so I have definitely tried to be competitive, how is bastinac for Palmer unfair? And on whose part? I'm just wondering how you see it

I'm too depressed to respond.

What was that talk earlier in the year about priority picks?

I will accept pretty much any offer for Jay Schulz :(

And to think I gave up Gaff from him less than a week before his injury.

Hey Mad Melbourne, just sent you a trade - Devon smith for Crowley. Numbers are almost identical. Gives you a potential young keeper.

I log on tonight and have 3 pages to read,What a day it's been in Ultimate Football.

Firstly DL 7 - Don't do it champ you are the reigning Premier - You are a vital cog in this comps machine. I urge you to reconsider.

JCB - My friend you have been in overdrive on this site today, I understand where you are coming from however there is some good valid arguments from DL7 & Robbo24 as to why that trade has gone down. It's the system that's been agreed upon that's now driving these late exchanges..

Hang in there also JCB you can't leave either, I would reconsider my spot in the comp if you did, This comp needs you JCB.

So when's the offer for SJ, Stanton & Brownny arriving? :-)

Lets all chill out (This sounds familiar), this is a great Comp, lets not destroy it before it's 2 years young.

PS : For those sides that need 1991 Rookies - Steven Motlop, Jonothon Patton, Billy Longer, Josh Caddy all on the table.

I am looking for a open Age keeper in return to partner Swanny in the midfield.

Last chance for Ziebell as a young keeper for next year...

He is susp for 4 weeks so useless this year but next year - look out!

I will accept pretty much any offer for Jay Schulz :(

And to think I gave up Gaff from him less than a week before his injury.

Probably my only stroke of luck for the year.

Hey for anyone needing a final rookie keeper, I have Brandon Matera. Good little player set to have a break out 2013.

I feel that there is and have been some funny trades between family or friends in this league lately and is just unbelievable.

Just so we're clear - According to my mum I'm robbo24's brother, and both herself and my dad deny having anything to do with D/L's conception. As far as I know those 2 don't know eachother outside these forums.

Copped the same crap last year with the Ryder / Gray trade (yes - with my brother - mysomething that people STILL bring up this year despite Gray having a much better year than Ryder in the end).

The Veto's should be used to stop collusion/ obvious tanking - while I did raise my eyebrows when this trade went through, Thomas is getting by this year on his reputation from last year - has been nowhere near as good. $cully, as much as I hate the [censored], has a lot of upside and can play. If he had been "stolen" from any other club we wouldn't have this hysteria

About to make you an offer, but not possibly for him.

Also ...

For coaches in need of ruck options, Bellchambers and Lobbe (both starting rucks for their respective sides) are up for grabs.

So too are Waite, Hurley, Rich and Griffen and the surprise packet Callinan.

A combination of these players could be the difference between you being a serious flag challenger or an also ran.

Get in early! Only days left to go on this incredible sale!

Mitcham, Dandenong, Frankston, Sunshine, Pakenham .... and Geelong!

Shaun Atley also available. Good rookie keeper option.

Give me an offer- I do not want to be unfair .My offer to you I have withdrawn as it would not have been fair to others and I do not want to do an unjust thing to bring myself in dispute over trade deals like others.I also have withdrawn my consideration to offers to OMR also.I have protested my point of views, been ridiculed by it. So I walk away from this saga bewildered by the conduct of other/s. I rest in peace with my soul, while others which I have questioned can do the same.Whilst it is a game, many of us have taken it seriously, like I and have spent many hours on it.And we should have certain rules to apply to our game which should allow questioning others actions. Like the Mods on this site, there are certain aspects which we all have to adhere to, if not you get suspendedRules and regulations should be implemented here.I have asked for a committee, which have fallen on closed ears and as I have been extremely lucky to take advantage of the kind effort and extremely kind offer to allow me to join this league,I thought however, we have a right to voice our opinion and furthermore if we want to vetoe and explain our thoughts , we would not be ridiculed for it.

If anyone's interested in either McEvoy or J. Griffen shoot me a trade! Both in form, Griffen will play the rest of the year with Sandi out until probably rd 1 of the finals (maybe rd 22)

Great post and I am sorry if I brought you unneccessarily involved. I had thoughts in my mind that DL was Robbo's brother. I genuinely at first thought- collusion. Then, I thought, it may have been a mistake and I felt strongly enough to protest as strongly as I have done.No offence to your brother- good luck to him if he can get it through.Furthermore in answering MM's request to me qualifying why I believe his trade should also be vetoed- it is simple, Palmer is injured. Will miss game time.

Please pass onto your mother, my apologies to her, in getting it wrong.

Please wish Robbo all the best with this week's game and the rest of this season.Ditto- to you.

However, I still believe strongly the trade b/w Robbo &. D/L 7 should be vetoed, and in the future rules & regs be invoked for the future of our game.

Well it hasn't been so far, so the other players in this game don't see anything terribly wrong with it.

And as for the committee - you're posting in a committee of sorts. This thread has discussed all the issues that have come up and has allowed people to be swayed one way or the other.

It seems to be working quite well.

Whilst I have to respect your opinion, you are very much off the mark as usual. We have a certain time period before notification is made of whether a trade goes throug or not , we avevtwo days to agree or not after the day, a trade has been agreed to.That is my understanding of the current rule It is my understanding that this Friday this will be announced. Therefore, I believe you're wrong or I ask how do you know the outcome now.?

Furthermore, I believe, that, neither Demonland or the mesage section of United Footy should be the outlet to voice any situations , like I have in this matter. .I believe, we should have a tribunal or the soughts to handle certain aspects , such as possible collusion can be heard.Certain aspects such as your proposed trade in getting rid of your 3 players at a time when these players may be judged as key to your current finals hopes maybe queried for the sake of the other 16 players outside the traders. Also, when you have family members and close friends it is easy to be questioned - Is everything above board.?

A committee , could look at trade proposals and look at these before we get a chance to vetoe it.

Again you always voice your opinion. Why cannot I.And whilst we do voice our opinions on all matters on this site, which I contribute to, I again feel that this should not be the utility to do so. If we had a committee, then one could protest or question in private without the ridicule that I have especially by you and HT.I await your answers and in particular , how do you know the outcome of the trades,I question. It is basically, only the current traders that have made comment and a brother of one.Two of the coaches have suggested they may vetoe, and another 8 have not made comment, soI await how you can make comments like you have.?

Explaining the rules and repeating them as expressed by JA and other UF team leaders earlier in the thread is not ridicule.

I would also guess that at least 15/18 team leaders would be made aware of the current trade being processed. They would also be aware of the last 2-3 pages of this thread and the discussion that has taken place. So I believe rpfc's assessment regarding the trade would be correct.

Because the trade still stands - it has been there for over a day now and it is still there - I am assuming people have looked at it, or read about it on here, and it will go through on Friday.

And I have never said 'jcb should not be allowed to voice his opinion' so I don't know what you are talking about there.

All you should do is say your piece, try to sway others, but if they aren't swayed - respect that others don't think the same as you and get on with playing the game.

Agree with this assessment, and JCB seems to agree with it too given his reply to you.

Again that is your opinion which your allowed to state. Why shouldn't I be allowed.I feel you try to muscle me not to..I believe, we should never make such rules during a season such as a rookie keeper system mid season. This I believe, should have been made at end of season or at least before the start of a season.Whilst JA has managed our league as he sees fit, and whilst I respect and thank him for the opportunity to play, it does not make me to or should make me void to voice my opinions. Also, it does not stop me to voice possible improvements. If this is the case, then, it is not democratic.Again, whilst we have two Mods in our league,I also question, why we should voice our opinions on this site when we have the message section of the Ultimate site. All current trades may get through, however, again, I ask, why cannot we question the merits of all or any?

JA has offered us a great opportunity to play in his league and I have been very pleased to do so.And whilst it has been majority rules, does that mean that any aspect cannot be improved or suggestions made.Again, I question all current trades, and feel you are just trying to shut me up and not allow me to voice my opinions. And as a Mod you can suspend me accordingly whilst I dose of this site.Especially when I question your trade mate.Lastly, again, it is majority rules currently , and I respect that, so I will wait till Friday, to see the outcome.

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
