Tom Scully blew out his cobwebs as he beat all and sundry in his 3k time trial today - Scully sizzles on track.

I think Brock McLean won Carlton's time trial a couple of years ago too!

Let it go man. He doesn't love you any more.

Don't know if you noticed-I am a FEman. However, I believe that every footballer is worthy of praise,if they produce and Tom's perormance was quite unbelievable .He did the time trial with a time of 9m 37s.An elite performance trully. In particular with a so called wonky knee.I believe he tanked it with us last year and look forward to other comments.

Says a lot about that dodgy knee doesn't it....3 km's is a long way....

It says nothing.

Not sure what you're trying to read into it though...

You see it differently to me E25 and that's your right.

Be keen to hear the best times for our 3 km trial on Friday...

Young To$ was in 3rd gear all of 2011...i have no doubts at all...China proved that one.

Surely Scully caining it in the time trial doesn't come as a surprise? He's fast and has top notch endurance - remember how he went #1 in the draft a couple of years ago because of this? I know we've all convinced ourselves that he's really no good anyway and he's got the knees of a 97 year old, but...

It says nothing.

I gotta agree. Running at a steady pace in a straight line isn't going to stress a knee as much as match conditions

I'm with you WYL. With $6 million and reputations at stake you can be sure, at minimum, GW$ told Tom to "err on the side of caution with your knee" in 2011. Ie. "Tank it."

How ironic that the player we tanked for ended up tanking on us.

You are very loose with the word "proof"

Absolutely....there must have been some sort of "insurance" clause in what he signed during october 2010...that is a business standard.

You are very loose with the word "proof"

Believe what you like, but he came home early and signed...with Phil.

are we sure he did 9mins 37 sec? he might just have said that, when in reality he only ran 2ks somewhere else?

It was up on the GWS website yesterday afternoon when i first read it...

Believe what you like, but he came home early and signed...with Phil.

I dont believe much of what young Tom says. I think he has been very sparse with the truth and has been in my opinion thoroughly discredited but I still wont go and parade opinion as proven fact. You use the word "proved" - Look up the word proof and then please provide some.

If the above is what you believe then fine ( and it well may be the case) but without proof it is opinion.

watch the final game against Carlscum last year....that was proof enough that i saw with my own eyes....he stayed wide of the play most of the day....i watched him close as i knew it was going to be the last time i saw him in the jumper.

This is a discussion board not a court of law, so proof and opinion can be pretty much the same thing..

(look up nit picking) again!!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
