Options who would of thought

With the draft and trading over and only the rookie draft remaining we will always take an optimistic view to what we have added to our list. What I see our our biggest positive is we are starting to have options for a number of roles. This has been a result over the past 4 drafts and with to Scumdog picks we have it should see us top our list up nicely next year with three first round picks(Viney is one)

Our forward line has been a major concern over the past few years but with a couple of years we now have Watts, Clark, Howe, Jurrah, McDonald, Sellar, Cook, Fitzpatrick add to this Sylvia, Petterd, Green, Dunn plus the resting ruckman in Jamar, Gawn or Martin you start to see a very good forward set up with a nuber of players that can kick goals.

We are a little light on the small forwards this time last year we all wondered how we will fit them all in, none of the stepped up with 2 being delisted, we are left with Bennell, Davey and Lawrence

Our Rucks this time last year we had Jamar then a huge cap now we have Jamar, Martin, Clark, Gawn and Spencer

In defense we have a number of tall options Frawley, Garland, Rivers, Martin, Davis, McDonald

We added a midsize defender Tynan to hopefully fill this role with Strauss, Bartram, Bennell, Grimes, Blease, Bail, Nicholson

Then we get to the most important area, I'm confident we can kick enough goals to win matches if we can get the ball inside 50m and our back 6 are good enough to stop goals being kicked against us as long as the midfield can start to perform, these group of players are the options

Moloney, Sylvia, Jones, Trengove, Grimes, Evans, Morton, Blease, Bail, Nicholson, Gysberts, Tapscott, McKenzie, Taggert, Bate, Jetta add in Viney next year, we are missing a star midfielder but we have enough there to compete and hopefully soem can turn into stars or we unearth one with the compenation picks we have in the bank.

Well done to our recruiting team we are starting to see the a list with that looks balanced, that will create competition for spots and depth.

It is now up to Neeld & his staff to get the best out of them...I keep seeing Mark Neeld's statement on this..."As a first time coach, i only get one shot at this"...

Let's hope we are all pleasantly suprised by the "new" Team next season....Nobody in the media thinks the MFC will do much next year, in fact i have heard some late night scribes say that the MFC will be happy the draft goes back to normal nwxt year so we can once again line up for high draft picks.

So i have the fingers crossed that we will be a team to suprise in 2012

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
