The good thing about a thread like this is that a topic is raised about him, we all discuss it, with the overwhelming majority expressing our support for Burgan and the work he has done.

I think that the response here is a feather in his cap.

It also shows that almost any topic can be discussed, no matter how stupid (or otherwise) we think the OP was.

Hmmm

Me wonders "who is KingSlayer33"?

While my first name is also Matt I can assure you "old dee" that my surname is definitely not Burgan. Sorry to disappoint though :)

Also a slow time of the year AOB!

Almost anything would get a run at present.

As strange as this may sound mate I did not think it was.

My father told me a long time a go not to check to much on what people think of you because there will always be one that dislikes you.

and you cannot win em all!

Your Dad is right.

I reckon I am a terrific fella - smart, friendly, supportive, good fun to be around, but some people think I'm and out and out CX@#!

Work that out!

I've got a couple of baby seal pups that need clubbing if a few of the Burgo bashers want to take them on too!

Regarding Burgan, I have to say, I rate the bloke!

Comes across as very down to earth, and easy going..........knows his stuff, and overall seems like a decent guy.

Give me Matt Burgan over some of the other smug tossers in the media everyday of the week!

I like him.

The official Melbourne site was horrible a few years ago.

The amount of content it has got now is awesome.

Hope he stays working for the club.

Is it just me or is this guy just a bit of amateur hour.

Jordie's sister did so well the other night and deserves the mantle.

Thoughts.....

As far as I know he's a writer. I remember reading a lot of his stuff when he was working at AFL.com.au (mainly on the drafts) and it was impressive. The stuff he has done on the MFC website has been good too... a million times better than what was being put on there before he came on board.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
