I really hope we don't decimate the Casey side like we have for the last couple of years. They deserve some success for their efforts.

A forlorn hope I think Redleg. People complain about us and others having our reserves as an afilliate team like Casey.

Over the last few years it seems to me they have way more than us to complain about.

In the last three weeks we have taken from their team, Gawn and Fitzpatrick with Spencer out suspended and Jamar injured they have gone from the best ruck division to nil.

This weekend Spencer should play for Casey.

What is the chance he will go to Darwin as an emergency?

And again they will have no ruckman.

Being ignorant of rugby league is rather clever if you ask me ...

We have gone from bananas to "cauliflower" ears.

I follow most football codes in the order below bb

Aussie rules

Then large gap

Rugby League

Gridiron

Rugby union

very large gap

Soccer.

The last one I truely struggle with,I have tried on numerous occasions and usually give up.

surely it can't be because the rules are too complex....lol

I assume you mean soccer dc.

It is probably that i was bought up on a 100% diet of Aussie rules but nothing happens to my untrained eye.

I watch for an hour then go to the loo for 1 minute to miss the only score for the game.

I may have watched 100 hours in my life and seen one goal live.

I truely struggle with the concept that a nil all game can be "a great game"

Redleg I am shattered Brynes is still in and Spenser has gone to Darwin as an emergency.

Obviously we know nothing re Byrnes and Casey has been dudded again.

They may be hoping Byrnes likes it up there and takes a playing coach role in the NT next year.

I am certain Spencer will be playing for Casey on sunday, unless there is a late injury to a ruckman.

Just got an email from the club about sponsor offers and one of them was from Kaspersky. We must have them on board to some extent as a sponsor again.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
