I did something I have never done as well Redleg I did not intend to listen / watch the game.

I heard the score on ABC news and got what i expected.

Like you the MFC gives me nothing but pain now.

Never in 53 years have I ever been in this position, even in the dark days of the seventies did I feel remotely close to this.

I wake every day now and half wish to pick up the HUN and find we have returned our licence.

God delivery me.

Saw the last round of 1997 between us and Freo on Fox Footy the other day and we belted them. We had a crap season and they were going for the finals. Look at the two clubs now, it's so sad.

It is like a nightmare from which you cannot wake!

Just keep drinking OD. The pain does go. Eventually.

After 53 years of supporting this club Bbo I seriously doubt there is enought single malt in Scotland.

Have you tried other spirits?

Cognac. Might as well go out in style.

For what it is worth I will share this piece of useless info, I have never had a full shot of scotch, cognac, brandy or a full glass of champagne. I have only tried them and disliked them and never repeated the exercise.

Is there any spirit / liqueur you like Redleg?

Some of my friends think Cognac is fire-water. It does take a reasonable mouthful to lubricate and get over the volatility before you can really appreciate it.

My experience ( going back a long time ago) is you need to start with very good Scotch or Cognac.

The Very Good stuff is more like a liqueur. Poor quality tastes like kerosene.

Not that I have drunk much kerosene!

Vodka, Baccardi, Kahlua, Baileys,Tia Maria.

Banana dacquari? FWIW I think tomorrow afternoon is likely to be time for banana cake. What about you, Redleg?

Anyone doing anything positive this weekend?

My Grand daughter arrives in an hour for her Friday night with Nana and Pa.

Then a movie tomorrow morning.

A couple of friends around tomorrow night for a few drinks in front of the open fire.

Off to Thailand early next week.

Quite looking forward to the next few days.

My grand daughters also arrive in about an hour for friday dinner with Nana and Pop.

I am off to Sandown tomorrow to see my horse Briefed hopefully win the 7th race. Can't bring myself to go to the footy until there is some change or we play a non top four side.

There's a piece of banana cake for you if Briefed salutes the judge, Redleg ...

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
