Well certainly not for banana bread.

Had some banana cake myself today, and it was a lot better than stale cardboard (and not Starbucks, too).

Thanks will look forward to it. Shared a banana smoothie with Mrs. Redleg yesterday from a place called the Avenue and it was great.

It can be done though. As I said the banana bread at Starbucks was ordinary and I have had banana smoothies that were warm and tasteless.

One must treat the banana with respect.

If anyone could it would be Starbucks Redleg

They are obviously not known for their use of the banana.

Nearly every thread I see started on Demonland is full of gloom and doom. Can't we get one thread with some good news for a change.

Yeah, should use their non-preferred foot instead .... Perhaps next time you should ask for a checkside smooothie ... :-)

You mean apart from this one? :-) The Aaron Davey one got close for about 6 posts or so.

Didn't take long for it to go off.

Redleg I don't find it hard to understand.

I know lots will say I am overly pessimistic but I struggle to see any positives at present.

We seem to be down a large hole and have not stopped digging.

the only thing to discuss each week is the size of the loss.

No one connected with the club ever even says the "win" word these days.

I try to stay off most threads, not very successfully I might add.

Can you think of anything positive to discuss as I cannot

Like the stale-cardboard banana cake? :-)

We will have a new Government in a few months and maybe a new Coach in a few weeks.

It is the next few months that is the problem Redleg.

Amazing to say this but this weekend with the game in WA on Sunday night

I might be able to block out the MFC and enjoy the weekend.

If the media will just talk about other teams I am home.

Another interesting factor is i have almost lost all interest in AFL teams.

Most weekends I struggle to know who has won.

The converse is I am really enjoying the Amos and plan to visit my old Country team in July.

Big weekend planned with a few of my old mates from my school days.

Robbo on AFL 360 said that if we get belted by Freo he expects a big press conference by Tuesday.

Does Robbo have any suggestions as to what might happen if we got up and won?

Don't think he sees that as a realistic option.

Robbo on AFL 360 said that if we get belted by Freo he expects a big press conference by Tuesday.

So if it's not after getting belted by GCoast at the G, it's getting belted by seasoned finals team in Freo at Pattersons...

Right.

I have never done this before, but on sunday, after about the first 20 minutes of the game, I fast forwarded to half time, watched a bit of the third quarter and then deleted the game, including the last quarter.

It is deplorable that any enjoyment of football has been taken from us.

I did something I have never done as well Redleg I did not intend to listen / watch the game.

I heard the score on ABC news and got what i expected.

Like you the MFC gives me nothing but pain now.

Never in 53 years have I ever been in this position, even in the dark days of the seventies did I feel remotely close to this.

I wake every day now and half wish to pick up the HUN and find we have returned our licence.

God delivery me.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
