There's a few posters working hard lately to get their post count up

Is there a competition on and nobody told me?

How long can you live on that once or twice a year R&B when the other games are mostly 10+ thrashings and the game is over at quarter time?

I am just about at the end.

By the way I remember the old race, it is very likely we were both sitting there near each other with our respective dads.

Great memories mate are about all I have left.

I hear you, OD, but living on the good stuff is better than the alternative. 1981 lives on in my memory for a visit to training with my Dad (who knew one of the then training staff) and briefly meeting Ron Barassi, the applause that greeted Ron before the first game against Hawthorn (grrr!) and Robbie's mark in the goal square to kick the winning goal against Footscray for our only win of the season. Otherwise a season full of garage, long since forgotten. Life is too short; you have to focus on only the good bits.

Interesting comment about the old race --- small world, eh? (or large crowd  ) I have a feeling that I may end up there more often if we perform like we did in that quarter ...

Yes, but don't tell anyone else! First prize is a reserved seat for our next game at Geelong (second prize is two seats  )

Sorry but I was educated in northern Georgia.

That's Georgia in the USA, I presume, not the one in the former USSR ...

I am struggling to read any other thread at present dc.

We are going round and round in an every decreasing spiral.

Is there anything left to say?

A few posters keep me coming back to this thread and that is about all I can muster at present.

This could be the raffle in which no one bought a ticket.

Or you couldn't give free ones away ...

The way things are going, if I had every ticket in the raffle, I still wouldn't win.

Whenever that happens, Redleg, I'll shout you a banana smoothie ...

There is a whole lot of self-flagellation on most other threads, which is understandable, but I find it gets a bit boring after the 37th time ... I find it hard to understand why some people seem to enjoy arguing the pants off each other about how bad we are ('No, I said we are crappier than crappy crap' 'But I think we are crapper than that!' etc). But then I find it hard to understand how people make money out of hip-hop ...

The world is full of thinks I don't understand, like how come all USA bank notes are the same size and colour?

To make them much easier to counterfeit, of course (especially all the Masonic symbols on the $1 bill) ...

Good afternoon fellow banana lovers.

Any news worth discuss that does not involve, sacking MN, the new GM achieving miracles in 6 months or slagging off my fellow Demonlanders?

I had a very nice banana sandwich for lunch so far the highlight of my day.

You know I don't want to be the bearer of more bad news, but Elvis died of a heart attack, due to his obese condition, contributed to by his constant eating of fried banana sandwiches.

I hope your sandwich, or the banana wasn't fried.

Wholemeal bread with natural Banana straight out of the skin that was it Redleg.

Washed down with a cup of English breakfast.

Thank you for the concern for my health.

Bloody sad that this is the most positive thing I can talk about today on Demonland.

You're lucky, I can't even think of one positive today

And to cap it off my central heating unit packed up, and so far i can't get a service man before next tuesday

Can you imagine if they had the anti-obesity drug AOD-9604 around in 1977, Elvis could have become a champion Essendon footballer?

Typical pizz weak suburbanite. You should try toughing it out in the bush. We have to cut down trees to provide fuel for our firepits.

Unfortunately fire pits got banned in burwood in the '70s.

too many locals went missing and the stench was terrible

we had to get more inventive and sophisticated in making people disappear

Is that how you got rid of the commos ( or other minority groups which I dare not mention nowadays) ?

we don't talk about left-wing post-materialist inner-suburbanites with government contracts in the inner-to-middle suburbs

The mask, the underpants disguise, it all suddenly makes sense. You're running a clandestine ASIO cell in Burwood. That's clever!!!

close, but no cigar. Jungle Patrol actually, not asio

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
