Will it be four in a row or are the football gods still angry?

Our side is different tomorrow and a win would be fantastic.

Would love JVR and Jeffo to both fire and Clarry be BOG.

We have now possibly reduced our major issues down to two:

We can't kick a football accurately and

We can't play four quarters.

Three.

We can't get the account number right for transfers to the umpires.

Now that is rare praise. Sadly Mr Leg I have to report your boy is not up to senior football.

Hi DF good to see you in action.

Hope you are well?

I been focusing on attending live WAFL games as I only have to travel to Joondalup. I live South of Perth and Joondalup is North. Why do I support clubs that are so far away from where I live 😕 😒 😢 🤔 Well when you support the best you can forget the rest.

Unfortunately, it looks like Melbourne is falling apart again. Personally finding it hard to understand why we lost four finals games in a row. So I have been keeping a low profile lately.

Oh my WAFL team is playing poorly as well. But we are getting an expensive electronic scoreboard so there is that.

Perhaps someone can help me out here. On another thread a poster used the familiar term "first world" - as in first world issue. Obviously, the term "third world" is used often and is familiar. But has anyone heard the term "second world" used or written anywhere? I cannot ever remember it being used - and while i can guess, what does "second world" actually mean?

I think it could now refer to the current USA.

A country that doesn't know what it was at present.

Great win by the boys against the Lions and the sack Goody calls may have stopped for a while.

Time for Uncle Bitters to crack open another wine cask and open the Coles’ cheese slices.

Based on the past 3 seasons, we should replace the head coach. So if you're not into sacking Goody, what do you think about an early retirement 🤔 at the end of this season. One or two good games should not be enough to save him, but we are Melbourne so maybe it is.

IMO a successful season is one that involves winning another flag, anything else is just background noise. We only won one flag in the past sixty seasons! I feel it time for another four or five GF wins, so Red come and join the Dark Side before it's too late.

I think you need to change lily pads.

Maybe, but replacing the Head Coach would be quicker and less painful. So come join us Red, the Dark Side is calling. You know that you want too!

The fact we are now adapting to a new game style and that so many players are invested in the Coach, including players we want to keep and even players we want to get, to move him on now could be a backwards step.

Retention and recruitment will definitely improve if we can win a finals match or two let alone a GF or three. Since Melbourne is falling down the ladder, I feel there needs to be some major changes in the football department before we can turn the slide around.

I guess this is another, time will tell situation. This season appears to be a write off. So I hope the 2026 season shows some improvement for us.

I am with you froggy. We have been massive under achievers since 21. However i think it is as much the loss of players as Goodwin's ability. Jackson replaced by JVR a big loss. Brown replaced by no one another big loss. Brawshaw loss replaced by a couple of kids who are showing promise. Clarry went missing for two seasons with mental problems. Smith gone forever with nose problems. The start of this year what was that? Players or coaching.

The issue is likely both the players and coaches but the accountability always stops at the head coach. Plus he come to us via Essendon, that's reason enough to replace him.

We should NEVER recruit players and staff from Essendon/Collingwood (excluding Jackson). It generally ends badly for us.

Didn't get to see a lot of him at Casey but do recall he finds a lot of footy.

Reckon he'd make an AFL list DemonFrog?

He got recruited by Collingwood

Im feeling a bit remote being in Japan at present.

Upside is I am having plenty of time to review Dland, (or unfortunate for Picket fence who I have been trying to get to training and see if he can improve kicking) however.......

I was surprised to see, in the fresh fruit market of Kanasawa (along with some mysterious items that may have been fruit, vegetable, mineral or plastic facsimiles) all labelled in JApanese (a language as foreign to me as Collingwood praise) bananas wrapped in cellophane. They were wrapped individually in packs of two and packs of three.

I purchased a pack of two but couldnt release them from the cellophane. The wonderful sales person, (seeing my difficulty) cut the wrapping with a fine shinto blade and with much gesturing and pointing, instructed and assisted me in the disposal of the wrapping and the peel. Every aspect of the transaction was done with such authority and efficiency that I feel she could assist the players in goal kicking, Alternatively she could immediately take over the Lever role in the back line< her gesturing was very much above par.

So whats up with the new Tasmanian AFL club? I just saw some lady on YouTube crying about the club may not make it to the AFL.

Even my brother in law who is an ex Victorian and a loyal Saint Kilda supporter did not enjoy the game and they won! Words fail me about our performance, but I think there is a solution. But it may not be a popular one.

While this season will be a write off, maybe 2028 will be a better one for us provide we can recruit and retain better quality forwards who can kick straight. Or accurately around the corner which is the Modern way of playing football.

The Japanese do strange and weird things! I don't understand why anyone would put a banana in cellophane. It just doesn't make sense to this simple country boy.

Politics getting in the way, but it will happen.

The two major parties are committed to the new franchise.

Tasmania is the only State without an AFL team.
