I'm sure you have had a wonderful holiday bb.

To bring yourself up to date on this thread just go back and read my posts - ignore the remainder.

BTW. A warning. There is now a total nut job sheila posting regularly here - the insanity may be contagious so be cautious.

We all all nut jobs here Uncle, and insanity has already infested everyone. So the contagion will be contained, as we have long since passed the point of herd immunity on that score ...

Exactly, it's the 1%ers.  This is something that led to our success in 2021 - I'm listening to a podcast interview with Clayton Oliver back in Dec 2021 right now while working.  Clarry said "I didn't change much, my three big rocks after discussing with Goodwin was to train well, sleep well and eat well.  That's all I've focused on this year"

So can a cricketer push a boundary with a pull shot?

Not very lawyerly Red!      ( Or is such encouragement a means of creating business?)

My father was a glazier and as a young kid I suggested going around smashing shop windows and leaving his business card. Dad said that it might not be a very good idea.

My first idea at promoting business.

I am not sure.

Can a ball snicked, get stuck in gully?

If a ball is hit into cover, is it hidden.

Is silly mid on for simple people?

if you are run out, have you left the field?

If your leg is not before the wicket, is it behind it?

If you bowl 6 times and the umpire calls over, is the game finished?

Does a wicket keeper take the stumps and bails home?

If a bowler bowls a no ball, what is he using to bowl with?

Just some random thoughts on your example. I am sure there are plenty more to come.

When a bowler throws out a bouncer did he just take his job?

When the umpire calls "wide" who are they calling wide? That's mean.

Couldn't help it.

We won't even go to the notion of ... 3rd Leg.........

Try explaining the game of cricket and all its jargon to someone unfamiliar to the game. What a challenge.

Why have blokes fielding where they slip?

Is this a game for pirates, given I’ve seen a Captain Hook?

If you bowl an off break ball, do you then use another ball?

If a fielder is in the covers, is he hidden?

Is the game played on a throw and that’s why it’s called a pitch?

What sort of tea do they drink at tea break?

Do the batsmen wear very big pants to fit a box in them?

If you bowl a leg break, does the batsmen retire hurt?

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
