Ah yes, I looked to the heavens and saw the future and you are in that future as a budding countdown star. No, not the "he who can't talk" Molly Meldrum countdown, but the far more important, Demonland Draft Countdown.

Keep up your studies and practice well and as the Nun said to the Bishop, "it's not that hard" and no my son it isn't that hard, if you continue on the right path to Countdown Mastership.

I thought you said Countdown Masterchef for a minute, which had me quite puzzled ... :)

you were probably pizza'ed at the time

No just puzzled about tying my cravat ...

Do they allow Pizza shops in Borewood dc?

Is that anywhere near Washington DC?

Don't give dc (and Borewood) illusions of grandeur R and B.

But Washington is all about illusions .... and I suspect DC knows a trick or two!

Well he does a trick or two .... especially at the Tennis Club and Dinner Dances.

What's that new signature about Uncle Bitter? Don't tell me someone sent you an offensive pm? Surely not....

Don't be silly Moonie! Do you know of a low [censored] that would snitch about pm's and then send one like that?

You must be fairly shaken.

By the blocking I mean.

Indeed!! What sort of an ignoramus could do without my sage advice on all matters?

And troll is a little harsh.

More of an overweight ogre one would think.

Can't say that I do. No one could possibly be that hypocritical.

What a weak dog hypocrite you are.

Sad sad little boy.

well bitters, we are sort of transitioning here in paradise city

souvlaki and pizza shops are fast becoming passe and chop suey and curry are more the menu du jour

had a lovely #24 last night

What amazing irony. Squeal about an abusive pm and then deliver one that's worse. You must be thrilled to have sunk so low.

I resemble that remark.

that's a bit unfair on stuie, moonie

stuie, being such a noted wordsmith, probably meant it more in a poetic or literary sense rather than your literal interpretation

after all, we are talking of demonland's moral compass here

Is that what you call her?

Dr John. You are clearly a man of letters ...and numbers... so you maybe able to help me out with this. I have heard (yes I know hearsay) that in certain establishments in SE Asia that young female employees are in fact, identified by a number that is textered on their .... argh ... person.

Apparently the idea is that if you wish to have an intellectual discussion with said young ladies, you ask the maitre d to invite, let us say number 69 24 over to your table.

Is that your understanding of the process?

I'm having a deja vu moment here but , I need to know - is Kai si ming the dish of choice in Borewood?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
