GAME DAY

No changes for Collingwood, Goldsack the sub.

Heading off now with my sports top on underneath my jumper - only collared shirt I've got :)

Carn the Dee's. Would love to see them win but as long as they are competitive over the 4 quarters I will be a happy man.

MCC filling beautifully, just watched Neita lead us to a mighty victory on the scoreboard, saw Tappy, Bail, Garland, Fitzy go for a rehab walk on the G ("remember, this is what it feels like...")

Melbourne to turn up, win, Scull to sign a contract live at DB's presser and wipe his arse with whatever piece of toilet paper he may or may not have signed with the Midgets!

Robbo just performed live with his band, now our very own David Bridie with My Friend the Chocolate Cake. Good show so far, and no sign of the flag, any opera singers, or, dare I say it, the trumpeter...

Go Dees.

good to hear bartram is in. any news why nicho is out?

Teams on the ground, Nicho out, Barty in, Evans sub, as mentioned earlier. The filth have the filthiest warm up gear ever. Look like they're wearing big baby one-piece suits.

Watching the warm up - was confident all week till now. They are much much more physically developed than us. Just a little concerned about the boys versus men scenario now

12 pairs of kids carrying 12 MFC premiership cups around the boundary. CS grinning nearby. David Bridie back on stage.

Watts work rate... building!

Nice run by Morton there too.

First blood!

Would be grateful for regular updates

Stuck in Sydney waiting for Melbourne plane

Melb 14 - Coll 24 at QTR Time.

Sylvia has kicked both our goals - and both were set shots received from Watts kicks inside 50.

The ball has spent something like 75% of time in Collingwoods forward half. As per usual we are struggling like hell to get the ball out from kick ins. Cloke already looks to be monstering Rivers 1-on-1.

No comment on our forward line because the ball just isn't getting down there.

Melb 20 - Coll 42.

We look okay when it goes in our 50... it just doesn't bloody get down there.

we r hopeless....thats an update

We're playing the best team in the comp who are right on their game, really disciplined. Doesn't look like we're lacking effort, just being outplayed, outexperienced and outskilled.

29 inside 50's to 11!!!

Put Frawley on Cloke FFS.

What is Bailey thinking?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
