GAME DAY

Featured Replies

oh man these errors are just creeping right in add to that some bad ump desicions and its a recipe for disaster we can still give this a nudge but man we are gonna have to really earn it now :(

Hansen pushes Dunn in the back but umpires dont give a [censored]. Hansen goals. 8 points in it.

Anyone know where you can get live stats? Love to know the free kick stats.

Hansen takes another contested mark in the goal square. Had his name all over it.

3 quarter time cant come soon enough.

Wells lines up for goal.

Gets it. 20 point lead to North

So in 2 quarters North kicks 11 goals & The sad Demons kick 3.

I hate the way this club performs, joke side.

Ugh, think we're done. :(

they were done in the second quarter.

A lot of players going missing for melbourne.

Where are our leaders???? Green? Where are you?

Pettard getting frustrated. He is getting hopeless delivery.

No one is running into space. No one is spreading. You can't blame Bailey for this. Its up to our leaders to keep our structures.

our leaders only appear when [censored] hits the fan... another week of melbourne players and coaches talking crap to the media giving excuses. This team has gone from strength to NOTHING.

JOKE SIDE...

23 to North, 15 to Melbourne at 3/4 time...

What's the world record for free kicks in a game? This umpiring is atrocious, especially after seeing how last nights game was umpired...

You are right there, although he really does need to fire up at halftime and find a way to make these girls blouses pull their fingers out.

uggghhh oh well im still hopeful but oh well

Where are our leaders???? Green? Where are you?

Wondering about Greeny now... is it the captaincy or age weighing him down? Trengove has to be in the leadership next year.

Bail could be a serious injury... might have room to elevate Evans, Nicholson and Campbell now. :(

Davey up forward, Maric into the center square, need to roll the dice to win this one.

this is what happens when the upire have this stupid umpire recognition week/month crap.

UMPIRES SHOULD NOT BE SEEN.

I am going to call it NOW... Melbourne are done for the season. If they can not hold a side with a 30 odd point lead, a side that i on par or a little better than.. then they are a nothing side.

How can they dish up games like the crows game then this.

I HATE THIS SIDE RIGHT NOW..

Come on Demons!!! Need some spark from Jurrah, Pettard, Juice.

Moloney needs to get involved and show a bit of aggression at the ball

Bail could be a serious injury... might have room to elevate Evans, Nicholson and Campbell now. :(

Yep. No reports from Casey that I've seen, but you would think that if Evans and Nicholson performed well, they'd be in next week.

Season going off the rails a bit here - agree with above comments re Green. Not the player he has been over the past seasons. Give it to Trengove or ...??

Bail has he done the knee? I heard a snippet of radio and the said a MFC player had potential an ACL? Garland subbed off with ankle injury, Slyvia had to come off for treatment, Jurrah came off late in 3'rd can't run high calf, maybe knee problem?

Brent Harvey spears the ball through for a great goal. Puts a knife through the heart of demon fans.

Harvey goal because Davey's kick didn't carry to Jurrah ... so many fundamental mistakes today.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
