Game Day (in delayed time)

Featured Replies

If Jack Watts comes in at three-quarter time and doesn't do something good against players from the worst team in the competition - all of whom have been working hard for 90 solid minutes, I will be severely annoyed.

I think the football department might possibly have based their decision on the way Carlton's small men carved up the Suns at the Gabba a fortnight ago. Also, the forecast is for showers and Watts hadn't played well in the wet.

Then leave him in Melbourne and play Maric...?

Disappointing that I can watch Orlando/Atlanta live from the other side of the world but not the Dees from Brisbane.

Watching on delay. :(

This. Been watching the playoffs all day live with League Pass since 4am, and I can't even watch my own football team in my own country play live.

Channel 7 is ajoke. It's 2011! Everyone knows the score, time to show live footy.

Same here - if anyone knows of a live stream, PM me. Really sucks, having 7 covering this...

AFL steams are close to impossible to find on the inter-web..

Someone on bigfooty is claiming to have one, but he is MIA since posting he was watching it online.

Thing is, there is no live telecast anywhere, so that means no stream. Disgraceful channel 7.

Was that dpkin1?

Was that dpkin1?

No, THECHAUNCE

He is posting images of it but is very clearly ignoring requests to share the link. What a tool.

"That's the problem.

Every time I hand out a stream, it gets shut down.

I give you full points for persistence though."

Epic tool.

First team ever to be headed by Gold Coast.

Humiliated already.

I'm not answering the telephone at the minute but no panic. I still think we'll win this easily.

What I am doing is noting the companies that are advertising the delayed telecast with the objective of boycotting them.

Canceling my RACV membership tomorrow morning.

still just blazing into a crowded F50. Really should be thinking our way through it better.

Agreed. We don't have much of a system going yet.

It seems our forwards are letting 2 Suns contest the mark, hope the ball spills and then trying to pick up the crumbs. Why is Watts the sub and why do we persist with Dunn? Jurrah needs to at least pretend to compete with a man. Embarrassing

Quarter Time

Melbourne 6.2.38

Gold Coast 3.2.20

A fair start without being overly impressive.

Some of the Suns "experienced" players who have been letting them down in the first couple of weeks are doing better for them.

A couple of their young blokes are going to be stars. David Swallow could well be the next Judd. McKenzie, Smith and Dixon will be good. Unfortunately for them it's going to take some time.

As for us, if we can replicate a 3 goal advantage every quarter, I'll take it.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
