Scully Out for Another ... now ... back to Six Weeks

Featured Replies

Has there been an expensive house sale in GWS recently? Surely that an undeniable sign that Scully is going to GWS.

There are no expensive houses in GWS

The club is taking a business as usual approach. Scully is in the "let out your demons 2" advert and he is on this "business trip" to Sydney. He is not the face of the Demons, he is not in the leadership group. He may be interviewed a little if he was playing but he ain't. The club by not pandering to hysteria is sending a message - "nothing to see here - move on".

Yeah. C&B - Try to understand the points here.

I know you don't like doing that when having a debate with someone but the points made here are pretty effing good.

I would have thought that neither yourself or Nasher would really need it pointed out to you that Scully is the controversial figure at the moment, not Trenners or McKenzie

just seems to me that the club would be putting Scully in our faces a bit more if they were confident we are keeping him. I know if I was in Schwab or Bailey's position I would be looking to hose down some hysteria by showing the kid participating in the club in some way.

Why would i want Tom Scully "In my Face more?" i just want him to get over the knee injury and play football for the MFC...simple.

What if we bought 2 or 3 houses and planned to build an expensive house......STCA of course. B)

... I would be looking to hose down some hysteria ...

Permission to hose yourself down granted.

Yeah. C&B - Try to understand the points here.

pft. we don't know what this business trip is all about so let's put that aside for a second

if he's in the membership ad that's good, but its just game footage to sell memberships, its not showing his face right now is it.

you know what I mean

It beats being hilarious while trying not to be funny...

Zing.

but there ARE a lot of threads to this story and they SHOULD be looked at in conjuction

for one I am surprised that more people haven't noticed we have seen/heard very little from Scully himself in the last few weeks and what that might mean. It's like he's not on our list at all right now

Yeah, I know what you mean. Normally Scully calls me every week just because he knows I supports Melbourne and thus want to know what he's up to.

I'm pretty sure the third one is for free.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Normally Scully calls me every week just because he knows I supports Melbourne and thus want to know what he's up to.

the idea of scully leaving is so ridiculous that the correct way to discuss it is with absurd and unsuccessful attempts at humour

yeah well done

Actually I don't know what you mean - so please tell me - what exactly would you like to see Scully doing ? What would you like him to be saying.

Zing.

I disagree with you again C&B - this is a SUCCESSFUL attempt at humour

anything at all, like sitting in the stands with his teammates watching us play, for example. That would be a nice indication that he is interested in being part of the club. I saw Jordie at the ground the other day, didn't see Tom there

Didn't know you sat with the players...

Are you a WAG?

you and rogue should take that show on the road

you're just using sarcasm as a way of burying your head firmly in the sand

yeah nice argument you lightweight

sheesh

It was a decent burn and you know it.

Boys it's time to stop now and come inside for some milk and cookies

I don't think he's going heard from a good mate of Jake Batchleors who is crazy Melbourne supporter. Jake said that he is too family orientated and doubt he would leave, not sure just highly doubt it.

Anyway he should just ask Ablett how he feels about the move and the fact of not getting a brownlow vote for the next 3 years... You say who cares. I say he does, I look at Ablett and I just don't think he is enjoying it. More pressure in him now then when he was in a one town team..

Yeah, so If he was picked up by GWS, then ontraded to Richmond,,, for Martin to GWS???

Serious question - And you know that he doesnt attend the games ?

I think Scully will be an absolute gun - but do you seriously believe that Richmond would trade Martin to GWS to get Scully ? It like trading Judd to get Hodge. Never happen.

you and rogue should take that show on the road

It certainly wasn't my finest; merely pointing out in a less dry manner the fact that there are plenty of players we don't hear much of - if at all - for long periods. This is especially the case when they're not playing.

Serious question - And you know that he doesnt attend the games ?

no, but I know the players always sit together and watch when they aren't involved

it's called being part of the club

Serious question - And you know that he doesnt attend the games ?

I have sat in front of the players on level two of the Olympic Stand at both the Sydney game and the Brisbane game and did not see Tom sitting with the players at anytime at both these matches...

Well, he was at the Sydney game - apparently he had a "I'm off to GWS" frown on his face...

I did see him outside of one of the membership tents on my way in. Could quite possibly just have been in the Presidents club function or in the coaches box learning different elements due to his injury...

At least he wasn't eating chips.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
