Demon Shop/New Melbourne Jumpers

MFC4Life

Recommended Posts

I went in on Saturday and grabbed a discounted jumper, couldn't believe my luck that they were so cheap. Wasn't until after I'd purchased, got the number printed, and tried to order another one for a mate that I was told they they were actually defects. Thankfully I don't care about the issues - I actually think the stars look better in gold and you'd never notice the border colour unless you knew what you were looking for. For $40 less I reckon it's a steal, but I can echo the comments above about the communications being a little below par.

For those interested, Tom in the shop said he would know during the week if he was getting more of the "defect" jumpers in, so to give them a call on Wednesday if you wanted to get one.

Thanks for that I rang today for an xl and they had none left personally I'm pretty keen to get one of these NQR jumpers so I hope they do get more in. Who is this Tom fella, does he run the shop/place the orders and did he seem to think they would be getting more of these in

Not the point mate. It's not what the club ordered. This is our new "Brand" We spent a lot of time designing this jumper, so it should be right.

But if you wish to buy 2 then cool.

Wow! My daughter had a hissy fit on the weekend very similar to the one you just put up here today..... she ended up in her room with a sore bum! Sometimes in life, things won't be exactlty the way you want or planned. It's not going to help complaining and carrying on.

I'm pretty sure the clubs not going to run around asking for heads to roll! New Balance have just come on as a new sponsor and considering the good will they have shown the club in signing on, it's time for us to show some back. If goodwill on our part means a $40 discount for a colour saturation issue on less than 2% of the jumper, then aren't we just saints?!

Christmas Priority list

1. Get 2 beers to Aussie soldiers serving in Afghanistan

2-999999999999999999999998. Anything else involving those less fortunate.

999999999999999999999999. Change stars from Burnt Orange to Gold.

And that's the point!

I am not havig a Hissy Fit Mr Tragic, but for my $120 i want the new MFC jumper. For $40 less i do not want the reject jumper.

If you want one go for your life.

I like to think Quality Control checks are done before the run starts, particularly when the next shipment isn't till April.

Why should i cut the company some slack???

Somebody(s) on the production line was lazy. Rather than me cut them slack. Why don't New Balance improve their Quality Control??

That's what the MFC is doing since 2008.

As i said in a previous post. The colour of the Stars is not the major issue, but the colour of the new emblem is.

WYL, I have one. And the thin blue line on the perimeter of the emblem is nothing to me. ie. It doesn't bother me. Then again I'm not that fussy.

And pre-ordered jumpers that are given away when they come in.

This bit I don't understand - why are jumpers being given away..?

My understanding is that there are no "technically correct" jumpers to be given away, only the discounted jumpers due to the manufacturing faults.

It's my understanding that these "defective" jumpers were being sold. I'd have thought that if you had a pre-order, you'd at least be able to have the first say whether you wanted them or not.

A thin blue line surrounding the emblem?

You're being increasingly pedantic WYL.

The real issue is pre-ordered jumpers not arriving on-time.

Both issues are relevant. A Job is either done right or it isn't. In my job presentation is very important, so maybe that's why i notice such things.

Quality control is nowhere near as good as it used to be.

I also get the strong feeling that this time around the club wants to get things Right, which i agree with-for so long we have lagged behind.

It's not the end of the world, but it will effect sales so i am merely irritated.

But i will reply when somebody states i am having a "hissy fit"

When a company wants to be the best, it all starts with presentation, so lets not settle for second best anymore

But as i said before, anyone who buys a cheaper jumper Good on 'em. I hope they sell out so we can get the proper run soon.

The delivery particularly before chrissy is just as important, if they don't arrive, some people will not buy in April as the money will be committed somewhere else.

All this new stuff is classic impulse buying, so i am disappointed it's not right.

The problems at St.kilda are far worse i do admit!!!

That was exactly my point in an earlier post of mine in reply to your post. This puzzles me. Unless they've made some sort of decision without consultation to deliver the real mcCoy to you once landed. But that means missing Xmas. So they perhaps should of notified...

Cool, you got a cheaper jumper that you are happy with-no probs, i look forward to seeing heaps of them worn in Round 1, me i am very passionate for the dark blue. The lighter blue will just remind me of the 80's jumper i never liked, so i will wait until the problem is fixed.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying now.

The only thing is, then the club has the issue of refunding $40 to every person who has pre-purchased a defective jumper.

Not ideal, & I can't see them charging full price for a defective jumper because it has been pre-ordered and then selling the rest at a reduced price.

Either way, it would cut into their revenue more than it will now.

I think they've basically banked on people not being too upset about the jumper delay (incorrectly in some cases).

I don't recall there being a guarantee that they'd be ready by xmas.

i think that was the decision made by the sound of it. Those who paid full price will wait. It's too hard and costly to send out refunds.

This is why sales will dip initially, and the main reason i got annoyed really. It's just a hiccup we didn't need, considering this jumper has been in the planning for around 2 years.

So i hope it is all smooth sailing by mid year.

No WYL ! No !

The Dark blue is fine ! The topic of conversation relating to the blue the club didn't want is this blue line which surrounds (along just inside the perimeter of) the emblem on the jumper. That's all.

I admit that I haven't read all of this thread but I will after posting this...

What jumpers will the players be wearing in Round 1 next year? You would think the next run of jumpers will be ready well before April...

Fwiw, I just had another look at it. From the naked eye just looking at the jumper, you can hardly notice it unless someone points it out. The blue is a similar colour to that of the blue on the AFL logo. I purchased a junior jumper though so the visual of the blue may well be smaller compared to that of a senior jumper. All in all it's minor and when the season is under way all will be forgotten. When everyone's wearing them at the G, you would not notice.

You are probably right, and if no one had said anything from within the club-we all would have happily bought it. But we were alerted that the jumper run was faulty-it's not what Schwabby so proudly wanted, so i will wait. The last footy jumper i bought was in 1987 when we reverted back to dark blue (it's made of wool!!!)

So if i buy a jumper it's going to last me, so i want the real deal, but that's just me. You probably scored a bargain collectors item HT so wear it with pride on Christmas day, as that's what i had planned to do at my Brothers St.kilda House!!! B)

I got a call from Tom in the shop yesterday. poor fellow sounded very stressed.

He came up with a solution which means something will be under the tree and offered profuse apologies.

I think they are doing their best in a difficult situation outside their control.

No doubt these things are made in China or somewhere so its not straight forward.

I certainly dont want to see the club being out of pocket over this.

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
