Had this guy pegged since the 1st round, but knew he'd be under the radar.

How long to leave it? I may have even pulled the trigger too early.

Pick 111 - Ben Reid - Collingwood

No I'd say your timing was pretty good actually.

Come on eth!

I agree. I don't necessarily think he was floating under the radar either. I think he's fallen at the pick at where he probably should.

It is all subjective and they will fall upon where entrants needs are. The rules of this draft ie. one player from each club also dictate or influence where they fall. It's an interesting concept.

Pick 113 - Brady Rawlings (Norf)

B: Harbrow Pears Rawlings

HB: Drummond

C: Foley Hodge

HF: Gray Cloke

F: Walker

R: Mumford Hayes Priddis

Stupid internet got slowed down to dial up speed

Dammit.

I was keen on him.

Best tagger in the game today.

Locks down and will get 30 touches himself.

Agree, one of the best at North.

Black Ops strikes again

We used 2 GB on Saturday and I had cricket in the morning, watched the cricket in the afternoon and stayed over at a friend's that night. Black Ops contributes, but it isn't all me :P

Question:

Are we picking players based solely on a shot at a hypothetical 2011 flag, or are we creating a side that will challenge for a few years after that as well? ie. With the last six or seven picks youth and/or experience becomes a stronger factor ...

Whatever floats your boat.

Whatever floats your boat.

I agree.

I've picked a team to win a 2011 flag, but with an eye to the future.

Which is why I haven't been keen on blokes like Scarlett, Brown, Black or Bock.

Fletcher is an interesting one. Made the AA squad of 40 this year and remains the only unpicked player from that group.

How long can that gadget man keep going!

Pick 114 - Wildcard pick - L. McPharlin (Freo)

The Master's Team:

FB: _____ Grima Hurn

HB: ________ McPharlin _____

C: Thomas Thompson Hill

HF: D. Swallow Henderson Monfries

FF: ______ Franklin ______

R: Jamar ______ Griffen

I decided it was time to take my second key back. Tossed up going for a more natural full back N. Brown, Carlile, Dawson, Thompson or any other good defender - Tarrant, T. Williams, C. Bolton, Grundy, Gibson. But at the end of the day thought Grima is versatile enough to play full back and McPharlin just has an edge of class on most of those.

Pick 114 - Wildcard pick - L. McPharlin (Freo)

Let's go Deestroy All.....

I've picked a team to win a 2011 flag, but with an eye to the future.

Which is why I haven't been keen on blokes like Scarlett, Brown, Black or Bock.

I've picked a team to strive for a flag in 2011-12-13-14. Looks as though we agree to disagree regarding Bock. I'd be staggered that at 27 he is considered finished. And I doubt very much Scotty Clayton would be of the same opinion as you E. Must be subjective.

That's my catchphrase.

Round 12:

Pick 115

Steven Salopek - Port Adelaide

B: Waters Lake

HB: Goddard

C: Salopek Murphy Davey

HF: Brennan

F: Fevola Green

R: Jolly Bartel Hannebery

* Adds another classy option to the midfield. I'm pretty happy with that group now.

Port cupboard now quite bare!

Round 12

Pick 116 - Campbell Brown - Gold Coast

B: Brown Merrett

HB: Deledio Scarlett Malceski

C: Dal Santo Boak

HF:- Hansen

F:- Hall

R: Hille Judd Vince

Round 12

Pick 117 - Travis Varcoe - Geelong

B Glass

HB Montagna Moore Grimes

C Cassisi

HF Harvey Brown Varcoe

F Tippett

R Sandilands Boyd Sewell

Good choice. Forgot about Varcoe.

Round 12

Pick 117 - Travis Varcoe - Geelong

B Glass

HB Montagna Moore Grimes

C Cassisi

HF Harvey Brown Varcoe

F Tippett

R Sandilands Boyd Sewell

Nice.

I hope Bennell ends up as good as Varcoe. Similar starts to their career, small glimpses of real talent, but a lot of nothing games.

Pick 117 - Travis Varcoe - Geelong

I was hoping he'd slip...

Round 12

Pick 117 - Travis Varcoe - Geelong

!#@^ *%

!#@^ *%

+1

Quite a few of us obviously very keen on Varcs. Lets hope his preseason injury dints his influence! Might have to go with Matty Cokes instead.

Round 12 - Pick 118

D Rich - Brisvegas

B Newman Chaplin

HB Rich Fisher

C Jack

HF Didak Roughead

F Le Cras Podsiadly Betts

R Selwood Mundy

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
