So... getting down to the last of the talent at Carlton, West Coast, Richmond and Essendon.

Not much left at Brisbane, never was too much at Port.

Geelong has been almost entirely pillaged.

I need to get into Freo and Adelaide before there's nothing left!

Not forgetting the might of the GC Suns.

I accept that they are full of kids and I'll end up selecting one, so it doesn't really matter who it is as they're all untested.

Nicely played with the full face of the bat. :) Giving nothing away there E.

There's some little mind games being played here. Love it!

The wildcard pick adds a bit of intrigue to proceedings as well. Someone might just get a rush of blood and plonk down for two guns from the Pies or Saints.

Get in early while they're hot!

Come to think of it. They come in different shapes and sizes. And there is superior quality from the top end of the draft in Bennell & Day. Not forgetting Toy who D.Swallow regarded as one who should of gone no.1 in the draft, if he was a little older. So, there are bargains. There's also some experience available.......

Not many know of McKenzie, Russell or Weller, who I'd also be happy to select.

That's what makes this so pointless, with no way of qualifying whose list is the best.

Might be worth returning to at the conclusion of the 2011 season. Or not...

Or there is Krakouer, Brown, Toy who are known, etc. With 6 GC players already gone. There might well be a MYER stampede rush for them. The second Gold rush ...perhaps.

Tomorrow night (Tuesday) on this thread guys between 10:00-11:00pm I'm going to submit several interesting quiz questions. It hasn't got a title as such, but it could be seen as a mix of the following titles : -

* Hot hour quiz

* Hour of Power

* Window of opportunity

I'll post a few footy questions relating to the current players of today (so it is relevant to this thread), and if most or all entrants here are present we may even knock over quite a few picks in the process. First correct answers of questions gets bragging rights. Incorrect answers get a friendly uppercut.

If unavailable perhaps a PM to old55 with your preferred selection(s) to keep the ball rolling in the draft.

PS. If there is quite a number who cannot be available we may seek another preferred timeslot. Otherwise please confirm availability.

old55 - can you please confirm availability for timeslot or if you have a preferrable timeslot.

Quiz is not necessarily for those specifically participating in the Best 18 draft either.

My availability is unreliable at present - away with work. Carry on, seems to be going well and getting more interesting.

Cheers HT, happy with that. It's what I would have done, except if I got out my crystal ball and knew Eth38 was going to pluck Walker! He was high on my list.

Anyway I'm just happy to get Essendon done!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

    When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

    The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
    Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

    The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

    Captain Max Gawn still has a massive lead in the Demonland Player of the Year Award from Christian Petracca, Kozzy Pickett, Jake Bowey & Clayton Oliver. Your votes please; 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

    It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
