I know, he's rubbish.

So I'll do you a favour, if you're regretting picking him, I'll trade you for pick 85. Just coz I like you.

I can't, had to pay a lot of money to get him to DAFC.

Haha gold. Maybe he can be an invisible ambassador for whatever cause you feel like pursuing..

Can't believe Montagna went at 77.. nice pick up Trengove.

I am the only loser following this like it is some kind of real event. fml

I can't, had to pay a lot of money to get him to DAFC.

Surely you could have brokered a deal with VISY to soften the blow ?

Besides, the Pavlova upon being called out at pick 21 ! immediately signed a 6 year deal with HTDEMONSfc (New apparrel with outstanding clash jumper - yes with white).

The Tim Tam didn't last long. No Deal. :P

Pick 74 - Player Nathan Grima (Nth Melbourne)

The Master's Team:

C: Thomas _____ Hill

HF: _____ ______ D. Swallow

FF: _____ Franklin _______

R: Jamar Griffen _______

Thanks HT. Got the CHB I really wanted as I think he's nearly as good as any in the league, and got me a star midfielder. Tell you what though it was hard picking between Griffen and Montagna. I can't believe both lasted as long as they did.

No problem. Griffen & Montagna are both handy pacey mids. Both can be damaging and both require the opposition to try and nullify their influence. Griffen slightly taller, can push forward like Montagna and create havoc.

I can.

Settling for Dal Santo instead of Montagna is better than having to settle for Leroy Jetta or Mitch Morton.

J Podsiadly - Geel

Roge, that was your wild card wasn't it ?

J.Selwood in Round 1.

A Didak (Coll)

Good pick. Like old55 alluded to the last rounds will be interesting. I'd say the last half dozen rounds will be interesting as the field narrows and most will be thinking alike.

Time for another premiership player...

Round 8... selection 79... player number 132094... Hawthorn... Sam Mitchell

Tomorrow night (Tuesday) on this thread guys between 10:00-11:00pm I'm going to submit several interesting quiz questions. It hasn't got a title as such, but it could be seen as a mix of the following titles : -

* Hot hour quiz

* Hour of Power

* Window of opportunity

I'll post a few footy questions relating to the current players of today (so it is relevant to this thread), and if most or all entrants here are present we may even knock over quite a few picks in the process. First correct answers of questions gets bragging rights. Incorrect answers get a friendly uppercut.

If unavailable perhaps a PM to old55 with your preferred selection(s) to keep the ball rolling in the draft.

PS. If there is quite a number who cannot be available we may seek another preferred timeslot. Otherwise please confirm availability.

old55 - can you please confirm availability for timeslot or if you have a preferrable timeslot.

Quiz is not necessarily for those specifically participating in the Best 18 draft either.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

    When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

    The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
    Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

    The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
