That was the most bitter KC defeat I've experienced since the 2003/04 divisional playoff loss at home to Indy. Two of our best three players, Hali and then Houston, went down with what could be serious injuries in the first half. We gave up only 3 points in the first 29.44, and with them on the sidelines, we gave up 38 in the next 30.16. Needless to say, if they miss significant time, we won't win a single game without them as our opponents will score on every drive. I'm hoping 9 wins will get us into the playoffs simply to avoid becoming the only team in history to miss the playoffs after starting 9-0. The horror.

That's a major blow to your season, pantaloons. Hope you can hang on in there.

It seems a lot of our teams have suffered some sort of major injury or 2 that has curtailed our seasons. In spite of all their injuries, the Rams, Bengals and Bears are still hanging in there. It's a pity that St Louis are in such a strong division as they are not a bad team and have had some impressive wins this year.

Even my Packers are only a half game back when in all honesty, they should be out of it. Rodgers is probably still out for a bit so I'm extremely doubtful of our chances despite the Bears and Lions not capitalising on their opportunities. At Detroit on Friday

The Vikes should have done a fair bit better (I picked 'em as a wild-card!) and so should have the 49ers (although San Francisco can bounce back with a win tomorrow)

Denver should have won with that lead and the Steelers, Ravens, Titans, Chargers and Miami are still in with a chance after today. The big winners were Arizona and the Panthers whilst the big losers were the Giants, the Jets and Detroit (what's happened to them?)

Still lots of unanswered questions but if the Colts can take care of Tennessee at home next week, they should go on and win that Division.

Pretty interesting week of football. All NFC north teams get no wins. A bloody tie in Green Bay. Vikes should of had it. We were up by enough to hold on against Flynn and the Green Bay defence looked vulnerable early on. It doesn't matter much to the VIkes but a win to the Pack with losses to Detroit and Chicago could of helped the slight chance of the Packers getting a playoff spot. The AFC is jam packed with 5-6 teams right now. I wouldn't have a clue who will get the wild card spots in the AFC.

Another Brady-Manning game is in the books. That game reminded me of the TV series Dexter. Great game with a terrible ending. It deserved better.

Flynn seems to go ok but only at Green Bay - probably because he's spent a bit of time there but hell, he's been cut a few times by other teams as well as the Packers. The only reason I give us a chance at Detroit this week is because of Detroit! They could have scooted clear but they couldn't even beat Tampa at home. It's still a tall order and if Stafford can hit Megatron enough times, we'll be in allsortsa.

Amazingly, the 3 best placed teams for the no.1 overall draft pick are Jacksonville (sort of expected) Houston and Atlanta. Who would have picked that? I think I had Atlanta winning the NFC South and Houston getting a wild-card!

I wonder which team or teams will get "hot" from here on in? Philadelphia? maybe San Diego?

I'd say Houston and the skins are the biggest stinkers of the year. I picked the skins to slide but not this much. Houston according to Andre Johnson just suck and he ain't wrong. If the Packers defence can keep the remaining games tight then Flynn and Lacy don't need to perform miracles. Detroit's best is scary good but to drop a game against Tampa at home is awful. They may breathe fire this week at home though.

Things might fall into place but I'm not banking on it. I still reckon Rodgers' injury is at least a 6 week one (which would mean he'll miss the next 3 games) We're hanging on but Flynn would have to have a big game, our few WR and TE targets would need to play well and Detroit would need to continue to play well below par. Don't like the odds, 'cfh'.

Atlanta are my biggest disappointment but there's quite a few isn't there? The Ravens might still make it but they haven't done a lot. As you said, Houston have been poor. It makes a mockery of any pre-season predictions. But of course, we'll do it all again! ^_^

I think that one of the injuries isn't too bad mate, so hopefully they aren't out for too long. It is tough to adjust to key injuries during a game mate, but hopefully with a bit of time to prepare your defence can adjust for upcoming games. With my Bengals we have a number of injuries on defence, including our best two players, yet are still ticking along. Our problems are on offence, which has been relatively injury free, no excuses for them.

It was always going to be tough and unlikely to get the 14 wins required for the division title and #1 seed. Hali's ankle sprain is on the less serious side but I'd definitely rest him this week, even though a loss all but ends our chances of winning the division. We need to get to the playoffs as healthy as possible, and actually, we have to qualify first. We've got a key chance for a win the following week at Washington so bring him in for that. Houston has a sublaxation (partial dislocation) of his elbow. Recovery time will differ depending on the individual and severity, but I believe JJ Watt took 4 weeks to recover from a similar injury 4 weeks ago.

I figure 1 more win SHOULD get us into the playoffs, so as long as we get that, it probably doesn't matter if we finish with 10 or 13 wins, we'll still be a wildcard team. Just get healthy.

Prefer it if the niners, Seahawks and cards were all terrible.

What....splutters to oneself :)

Draft pick man, draft pick. Don't you guys have the skins first rounder for the next draft? I would have thought that you would have a number of voodoo dolls dressed up in Washington Redskins uniforms stuck with as many pins as possible. :)

Could have been a lot worse mate, as it didn't look good for them during the game. I think we have half a dozen on the defensive side gone for the season now. Our offence should hang their collective heads in shame and just look at what the defence has done despite all the injuries.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
