Bitterly disappointing exit for the lions after such a good regular season. Missing a lot of defenders I know but they have to tighten up defensively to have a chance of an SB

18 players on injured reserve is insane. I think if they were healthy especially on D, they would make the SB

Would have been funnier if I wrote Campbell instead of Quinn... Oops 😂

So the NFC North is now gone!

NFC East still the best, Go Cowboys 🤣

So we might get 2 snow games tomorrow if the forecast is right

The NFC North going 3 and out in the playoffs has exposed a few glaring weaknesses in the division ...

Detroit need to strengthen their defence and/or get healthy on defence

Minnesota probably need another QB after Darnold got exposed in their last 2 matches

Green Bay need to get stronger on defense and with the passing game.  The run is ok but another Josh Jacobs type would be handy

Bears need a year with Caleb Williams at the helm but need to surround him with a decent running game and not being relied upon re deep passes

A greater array of shot cut-out passes with a decent tight end involved wouldn't hurt

What is everyone’s thoughts on the current playoff system…. I know the #1 seeds now get the week off (wether its an advantage or not) but it does seem cruel a side like Detroit can have such a good season & it’s one & done… My opinion is they should have something similar to our system where the top ranked sides have a second crack at it

Yes, the danger with having the first week off is a rested top seeded team can come out rusty.  But the top seeds could always conduct heavily simulated practice on the wild-card weekend (maybe they do that already?)

Green Bay succumbed to the Giants in the 2nd week of the playoffs in 2011/12 after a 15 & 1 season.  All over in a flash and a really empty feeling

In that season, the NY Giants got hot at the business end of the season and ended up winning the SB.  In the previous season, the Packers got hot in the playoffs and won it all (as the 6 seed)

But I wouldn't change their playoff system, JV.  It's incumbent on the seeded team to be ready to go and at their best

The issue with Detroit today was that they didn't play very well and looked flat.  But that's on them

Also, Washington played really really well and committed no errors.  They've now won 2 playoff games and have now reached the last 4

One more win and they're in the Super Bowl ... who would have thought?

They were saying the chiefs had a padded hit out on the Friday of the week off to help negate that.
I don’t mind the system, it’s super cut throat, tbh I sort of like that more than the double chance system we have.

Thank god others feel the same. I felt like the world were all just becoming Kelcie-Swifty Mahomes losers and people not knowing anything about the sport jumping on the Chiefs train etc.

Fair observation.

More often than not at least 1 one seed team makes the superbowl each year so it does help to get that rest in especially if you're an older or banged up team.

I also like the do or die nature of this playoff system where these games are the ones that you absolutely must perform in. Every now and then you do get some heartbreak stories like the Minnesota Vikings of 1998 who went 15-1 only to go down by 3 points in the NFC Championship game to the Falcons.

A week off and home field advantage which would mean more in the NFL than AFL seems to be enough of an incentive I guess.

If he Rams played to hold them when they were 3rd and long from their own 5 instead of giving up 16 to a barkly screen we would have had the ball in good position. We didnt give up points but we could have had a chance to score and start the second half with the ball.

We need to score out of the break, must equalise at minimum.

Bah! Looking great and the hand off to Williams slipped out of Staffords hand and stalled the play.

13-13 now.

It's that kind of game, execution won't be easy.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
