mahomes throws a pick! that never happens.

Ravens D excellent again

What a game!!!

The toe will be the talking points but for me it was Jackson kissing flowers wide open the play before.

The best make that throw.

Looks like the chiefs have developed a running game to make it even harder for the chasing pack.

high quality game first up. Chiefs, again, will be the team to beat this year.

It truly is a game of inches.  Only audio my end, but maybe just one inch in it!!

Ravens have got a tough 4 weeks coming too so Jackson missing Flowers could turn out to be costly

Haven't seen this guy for a while but Jon Gruden is always good value

I like him can’t believe this is in Brazil, I mean I get it grow the game but the Eagles lose a home game vs a play off contender.

Cant wait to watch this today.

Eagles have been terrible on their first two offensive drives.

Their D has been ok tho.

Love looks good early.

Edit: And just like that the running game appears

Only audio my end but apparently the players are slipping all over the place

Yeah the surface was terrible.

Eagles got going and their D restricted Love, Barkley was good for them as was Brown, Jacobs got going late but Love being hurt with 6 seconds left isn't good for Packers fans.

Apparently Love was walking unassisted so might be ligament damage only.  But that can be 6-8 weeks if it's major damage.  Worse case scenario is a leg break near the ankle but I'm not sure he could walk around at all if it was that bad

Eagles too good even though the scores were close.  It felt like they were in control of the game for the most part with the difference being Barkley?

Barkly was the difference on offence, but I thought the Eagles D, especially the rookies in the secondary stood up and covered the GB receivers well.

I didn't have high expectations this season mainly because I reckon Love needs more time to improve.  4-10 weeks out with the small amount of info available

The back-up 'Malik Willis' was formerly the QB at the Titans and only arrived 2 weeks ago so he's got it all before him

@Gorgoroth

What's the go with the Rams?

The bookies have got them as long shots to be the Super Bowl winner (35-1)

Yet the Rams are roundabout even money to make the Playoffs (5-4)

Oline injuries and secondary banged up and a hell of a lot of rookies. No AD means we can prob win enough for play offs but beating the good teams will be much harder.

Bit late to the party for Round 1, here we go again, good luck all!

Steelers

Vikings

Texans

7Mate Games ...

3.00am  Titans @ Bears

6.25am  Washington @ Tampa

Followed by the Armchair Experts with Ben Graham (9.30am)

And I got your tips, Gorg

Just scrolled back and saw them

Houston, Pittsburgh, Dallas.

Wasn’t going to do tips this year but you’ve sucked me back in thanks Mac.

Thoughts on the season.

AFC
North - Ravens, Bengals
East - Jets, Dolphins
South- Texans
West - Chiefs, Chargers

NFC
North - Packers, Lions
East - Cowboys
South - Falcons
West - Niners, SeaHawks, Rams

I’d probably switch it up now but I have to hold true to my preseason prediction of Packers-Jets in the Super Bowl.

Everyone on the board in the tipping comp!  Now, that's a first!

No real surprises in the games this morning although the Bengals & Falcons losing were minor upsets

Rams @ Lions & Jets @ 49ers are the games that many are looking forward to

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • PREGAME: Gold Coast

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
