Philly 17 - Kansas City 33

2 of the original posters on this thread are head to head tomorrow ... @pantaloons(Chiefs) & @Dappa Dan(Eagles) so good luck to both you blokes tomorrow if you're reading this (hope you're both well)

So we play for a total of 10 points in the tipping comp (5 win & 5 bonus) so good luck to all!

Whichever way you look at it, it's going to be a tight finish in the tipping comp ... let's hope the actual match is the same!

Unless I have a wager on the game I don't really have a dog in the fight.  I've always liked Andy Reid and Mahomes is a star whilst the Eagles are a team that have had an outstanding season and would be absolute deserved winners of the SB if they prevail

Leaderboard Post Season Tipping Comp

21 - JV7 (Eagles 1-6)  @DeeSpencer(?)

20 - Go the Biff (Chiefs 1-6)  Clintosaurus (Chiefs 1-6)  @Gorgoroth(?)

19 - Dr.Gonzo (Eagles 7-12)  @Macca(?)

16 - Dee Zephyr (Chiefs 13+)

15 - layzie (Chiefs 1-6)

13 - DemonDave (Eagles 7-12)

YouTube has a heap of preview videos of the SB so I won't post any up.  I'm working but will be listening in on audio

If any of you blokes get a chance, posting up a few vital moments during the match will be greatly appreciated

Hmm, would've liked to have taken Eagles 1-6 but I got to mix it up from JV7. I love Mahomes so much, but I'm just feeling the Philly feeling.

Eagles 31 - Chiefs 23

@Gorgoroth... don't forget your tips

Eagles 13+

Chiefs win coin toss, team winning coin toss has lost, streak has gone for 8 years and started in Arizona… will it be broken in Arizona???

It’s a double, coin toss jinx and the MVP jinx. Chiefs have both this year.

Ha ha!  What about the ability levels? 😄

There again,  the Norm Smith curse was a very real thing ... and there is documented proof to back that up!

57 long, tortuous years!!!

Oh yeah talent matters but when both are equally talented (ok, chiefs slightly better but more banged up) the I live in the jinx/curse category.

Dappa's Eagles controlling the game so far. Missed FG and a Chiefs jump offside. Fine margins

And just like that a huge turnover!

(I'm watching live for a bit)

I thought that was a catch!  Slight bobble?

I give up on those. When does the receiver become a runner anymore?

The standard couldnt be very high if a Stkilda reject is a big chance to play in their Super Bowl .

Its just overblown rugby with helmets and dancing girls.

Way to much sport onTV.....boring.

I don't normally take much notice of bad calls but to my eyes, he well and truly controlled the ball before stepping out of bounds

Going the be interesting to see how Mahomes goes in the 2nd half.  As Jimmy Johnson said, he needs his legs to be an overall weapon.  If he's not mobile, the DL will probably get to him

Wow!!  It's all happening!

That could have easily been deemed a catch

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
