G'day Gonzo

I'll read Cinci as 7-12 as the brackets have to be 1 of 3 (1-6, 7-12 or 13+)

All yourp other brackets are ok and make sense but I don't expect everyone to know how it all works ... people float in and out of this thread

Anyway, I'm all set up to watch the 2 games today.  Bring it on!

49ers up 10-0 already

This is heading towards a blowout

Edit: Maybe not!

It was now it’s game on.
the last points to Seattle never should have happened. Ward game up such a dumb penalty.

Seahawks keep coming at them ... they are a real chance if it remains a one score game

Game over now, that fumble by smith lost them any chance.

Yep ... Seattle couldn't afford any errors

And there's another turnover!

Damn forgot to tip, can I do the remaining games?

Of course you can

Go for it!

Hey Gorg do the 49ers play next Sunday oz time as well?

Thinking of getting a few mates together at the local in Kew ... and anyone here might want to roll up for the double-header

Disastrous start for Lawrence!

Not sure they announce next weeks schedule until after the remaining games, here's hoping for another Sunday game for the Niners, was great to be able to watch this morning!

3 int by the jags in the first qtr!!!

Unbelievable!

A long way back from here but if they can get within 10 points by half time, it's not over

Eagles are the No.1 seed so they might get the NFC Sunday (oz time) game but the 49ers are at home again (being the 2 seed) so they might get another Sunday game.

If the Vikings win you'll be playing them otherwise it will be Tampa or Dallas

The way the chargers are moving the ball this will be done in 2 minutes

I feel for the Jag fans ... they wouldn't have envisioned seeing this unfold

It's a nightmare outcome

6:48 to go in the second and the game is done.

Wow, Jags finally make Chargers punt, hits their players helmet and Chargers have it at the 6yrd line.

Jags score a TD!

Need a miracle to occur in the 2nd half

Down to a 2 score game ... Jags could do with a turnover with the Chargers next drive

Massive blunder by Bosa before. And the Chargers get away with a dropped catch.
Chargers losing players too, gotta get their run game going a bit more, eat up clock.

The Jags nigh on killed themself on that penalty on Herbert when they had sacked him, lost 6mins but Chargers miss the FG…

They couldn’t could they???

Yes!

Great comeback and they go for 2 and get it!  Been a ripper of a 2nd half!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
