Tampa started great and then hit a hole, Falcons just look good, championship game good.

Don't get me excited!! The offense is good enough to take us anywhere, the defense is still suspect but the way Ryan & co are playing any things possible. Im happy to admit I was wrong on Shannhan, he has this offense humming... The NFC isn't as strong this year so who knows what'll happen. Anyone think Ryan is the MVP at this stage ? He'd be close.

Would be close.

Your D is ok, not awesome but not bad. Your offence this is one of the best. You are very solid in all areas of your O.

Although I'm not a big fan of the D, we have given up junk yard's & TD's while the game is closed in a couple of games... Yesterday for example  Glennon throws 10 of 11 & one TD. If we are to to anywhere it's going to on the back of the offense, if the D can improve to a middle of the road defense  by seasons end I will start to believe we could win an open raced NFC conference. I think Alex Mack had made a huge difference to the OL

Who are the other main contenders in NFC?

Seattle are one and their offence is not great.

Cowboys are very good at the run, good at the lass game too.

Vikes, Oline lets them down but Bradford has shown he can punish lesser Dteams.

Packers always a danger as by the end of the year I expect Rodgers to be firing on all cylinders.

Panthers if they can make it (long shot, but...)

Yeah agreed. They are the main contenders you'd think. Be intresting to see how Elliott & Prescott go as the season progresses, you'd have to think at some point Romo will step back in though.

Cardinals don't look to flash at the moment but they are always there abouts aswell.

On the Panthers, I guess in the NFL sides do get hot & can make a run, so anything could happen

They blew a few games with bad mistakes and dodgy coaching but I still think the Eagles are the best balanced team in the NFC. They had Dallas on the ropes and let them off the hook.

Of course I'd love to see them with a good receiver and thought they could've made a trade for a veteran receiver who wasn't going to drop passes or make costly mistakes.

I like the Eagles, but they need a reciever and stop having their players suspended. Losing Lane Johnson was a massive blow and now Huff is in the [censored]. I am not writing them off, but think Dallas hold the bigger upside especially after dez just got back and Romo os back soon.

A few observations ...

  • Dallas & Prescott keep marching on ... what to do with Romo?
  • Detroit are right back in it but they need to keep it up
  • Packers & Vikes are struggling - especially the Packers
  • The Panthers might get on a roll
  • Oakland (7 & 2) look like the real deal - after their bye next week they are then vs Houston, vs Carolina, vs Buffalo
  • The Giants are hanging around and have the 3rd best record in the NFC (5 & 3)
  • KC are 6 & 2 and flying under the radar
  • The Colts might be back
  • Atlanta can skip away - next up @ the Eagles
  • 3 participants picked up points in the comp - miracles do occur

All I will say is that Fisher is one game closer to the greatest losing record and one game closer to the sack.

2012 3-5

2013 3-5

2014 3-5

2015 4-4

2016 3-5

consistent, I'll give him that.

KC certainly does... Read somewhere they are something like 17-3 since mid way through last season. Pretty impressive, can't say I have ever watched too much of them though. AFC West would have to be close to the best divison going around at the moment.

Bit worried about the Saints in the NFC South too.. Bit like us their offense just gets it done & if their D can improve they could snare the divison or WC. Although the NFC South is one of the worst divisions I reckon it'll go down to the wire

Yeah your not wrong there, not too many coaches survive that kind of record. Disappointing last 4 weeks after the 3 wins in a row, you had a couple winnable games there. I just don't see why they don't start Goff now, I sorta get he might not be 100% up to speed yet but your offense needs something, I think it's time.

Fisher still believes his D will make enough plays and help score, that is no longer the case. We lost too many players last year.

Gurley is getting stuffed constantly. Austin is a bust as a reciever so the mediocre QB in Keenum is getting found out.

I think the change in coach and offensive coordinator is more pressing than Goff. I think he will struggle to do much better under the same system.

Do you want Mike McCarthy?

He's run out of ideas at GB ...  all I keep hearing is that our receivers can't get separation.  Rodgers' numbers are down but he gets very little help.

Not sure we want your bloke though.

Agree with all that. Panthers are a long way back though.

Seattle keeps winning the close games, again dominated by a clear refereeing mistake (first the missed PI call against Atlanta, then today the missed roughing the kicker and the delay of game costing the Bills a FG).

Loving seeing Oakland leading the AFC West. AFC West is actually becoming strong, San Diego picking it up to move to 4-5 and Denver third on 6-3. AFC North, meanwhile, is terrible. Baltimore lost 4 in a row but leads the division!

I threw the Panthers in because we know that they are a good team when they're firing ... they are a fair way back though.

They'd probably have to win 3 of their next 4 to have a chance ... vs KC,  vs Saints,  @ Oakland,  @ Seattle.  It's a big ask but there's always a team or 2 who can get on a roll.

Like you, I'm hoping the Raiders can keep winning ... their fans have had a terrible time of it with so many losing seasons.  They haven't had a winning season in their last 13 years.  8 & 8 has been their best effort in amongst those mostly abysmal returns.

Just did a quick google search and realised that Gorgo's Rams haven't had a winning season in their last 11 years as well.  That's just too much pain.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
