Casey Scorpions v Gold Coast

Featured Replies

Any idea if its been broadcast on the radio (net) thru anyone?

For all us missing out interstate..

Casey Radio 3SER 97.7 FM

Off to Casey today.

Hopefully see some great form from Tap, Blease & Bater.

Interesting to see if Millsy is there or not. Would be sad to go in without The Big Rush tomorrow.

In fact check out page 4, you brought up post 40 in reply to me even back then...

You mean that I was interested in one-upmanship even back then ? :o

I must say that it was amusing to see Hazy wrong - again. And I had a little chuckle when I saw that Rhino had hitched himself to Hazy's wagon. :)

If you're viewing the telecast on ABC this afternoon and you don't want to know the live scores, don't look here!

Looking forward to your news as usual KC. Really appreciated.

It will be interesting to see if Miller or Morton are not playing. Jones trained this morning with the main group, so I would say he is the 1 emergency not playing at Casey today. Lets hope both Miller & Morton are playing at Casey.

Sam Blease is out there for his first senior game. Starting on the bench.

Of the named emergencies, I can see Brad Miller but not Nathan Jones. Looking for Cale but can't find him.

Tappy's first kick out of bounds on the full. Jack Fitzpatrick's first was intercepted. Nicholls converts from a free but Scorps trail by 2 points.

The Gold Coast Suns are looking very slick.

Brad Miller goals for Casey but Gold Coast answers to lead 2.4.16 to 2.0.12.

Juice passes to Blease for his first kick. The Suns are troubling Casey with their pace and ball movement as well as their pressure which is causing a few turnovers.

The Suns have moved to a three goal lead and are playing all over Casey.

Of course they are - it's on the TV. I don't think I've seen a televised game where Casey played well.

Quarter Time

Casey Scorpions 3.0.18

Gold Coast 4.6.30

Goals Miller Newton Nicholls

Matty Warnock is playing well in defence. Brad Miller is looking strong up forward and Juice Newton came into it late in the quarter with a couple of nice marks. Luke Tapscott is working hard but most of the others are being run off their feet.

The Scorps are being taught a football lesson here and are they are only being kept in the game by their accuracy in front of goal.

Miller has kicked three goals while Warnock is the stand out in a poor defence.

Goald Coast Suns 10.9.69

Casey Scorpions 7.2.44

Karmichael Hunt goals but Miller marks and kicks his second.

The Suns lead by 10 points.

Have you spotted Morton yet KC?

Jones trained with the main group this morning that's why he isn't playing. The designated emergency.

Thanks for the updates

Have you spotted Morton yet KC?

No, Cale Morton is definitely not playing at Casey today.

Half Time

Casey Scorpions 3.0.18 7.2.44

Gold Coast 4.6.30 13.10.88

Goals Miller 3 McGough Newton Nicholls Tapscott

Casey was taught a football lesson in that quarter by a well drilled young team. Tough to come back from 44 points down at half time.

Miller goals for his fifth - still trail by 5 goals.

Has Tapscott had some influence KC ?

Half Time

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
