Kepler Bradley misses from 35 out

Fremantle 5.3.33

Melbourne 1.2.8

Quick goal would be much appreciated

Spanking coming up here.

No pressure. Little intensity. Not enough inside 50 entries, and when we do go inside we turn it over because they have a loose man, as do we, but theirs is actually having an effect.

And senior players struggling.

Fremantle are good but not this good. And we're a lot better than this.

im over jones

gone!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Rhys Palmer bangs through number six

Fremantle 6.3.39

Melbourne 1.2.8

Fremantle's goals:

1 from a 50. 1 from a turnover. 2 from free kicks. 1 when the defence was asleep.

Frustrating stuff.

Insipid! F%&king INSIPID!

We might as well send over our reserves and freshen up the rest for the week after in Melbourne cos as soon as they leave Melbourne they become skilless, weak pieces of [censored].

Every time we go interstate the coach and players talk about turning around a hoodoo and every bloody time, [censored] all happens. We have absolutely no leaders interstate.

It's the reverse of last week.

4 goals from free kicks.

Switch your (expletive) minds on.

Yeah, how sloppy was that tackle (resulting in a free and another goal from a free)

Nathan Jones is just not a smart footballer, never has been never will be!!

Will somebody PLEASE tell me they're kicking with the aid of a roaring gale?

Just not even in some of these contests, its like theyve been told to only give 50%

jones is just an ordinary footballer

the free kicks were there idiot!!

just fricken chip it around and get an idea of what the ball feels like. im so fed up with this [censored]. Its basic football iq that no-one has. Dont give away stupid/unnecessary free kicks in danger areas. Bailey owes it to Melbourne members to blast the [censored] out of this playing group at quarter time. insipid

Will somebody PLEASE tell me they're kicking with the aid of a roaring gale?

at least a 9 goal wind, we'll come back in the 2nd quarter.

Wow.

Awesome start.

There's that competitive performance i was hoping for.......

the free kicks were there idiot!!

Yeah i know you fool.

I'm saying the Melbourne players are stupid for continually giving them away.

Just like the stupid Bombers players.

Pull your head in...

cannot blame the defence for such an insipid midfield

wattsy isnt doing too bad, chasing hard

QUARTER TIME

Fremantle 6.3.39

Melbourne 1.2.8

Five of their goals came from our mistakes. Shocking.

At least Jamar is winning the hitouts 8-6. Five contested possies to Bartam. Four tackles to Morton.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
