Yet Dunn has - and has a further 4 YEARS (before he's played as long as Miller) to improve on it - but you've already written him off? Its just dumb.

You (and some others) obviously forget, it was Jamar, Bate AND DUNN that really stepped up a level last half of last season.. while Miller was busy getting kicked out of the leadership group.

Dunn has played 4 LESS years than Miller, in which time has developed into a better player and more versatile player than Miller is.. although thats not what you would call a tough task,

he is going to be more use to us going forward than miller could ever be and has years to further surpass his level of personal growth and 'success'..

BTW - How has Miller been going lately Rhino? Or should the question be: 'HOW DOES THAT EGG TASTE?'

The major point is that Dunn more so than most actually has experience

playing in a forward line. But rather than picking him to play forward he's constantly played out of position.

Is he the answer to all our problems i don't think so, the important question is considering all the injuries

and players just not up to it. Where does Dunn rank with what's available. He's ahead of Hughes, Newton and

considering age, skills and upside he's ahead of Miller.

Miller out for Dunn this week and the next 10 games are for him to kick 35 goals and cement his spot if he doesn't

he's a list clogger.

I dont know why you champion Dunn over Miller. They are both ordinary.

Miller is out of contract this year and will probably be shown the door. If Dunn cant make something of this chance then he should be close behind.

It might have slipped your fetid mind that will all the problems MFC have had up forward, Dunn after a complete pre season cant crack a regular game. Pick 15 in 2004, 23, 59 games, six years in the system and an absolute fringe player. He either makes a mark for himself or proves the gap between AFL and VFL is widening.

Agree about Dunn, not about Miller. Given what happened on Saturday, we need a few hard, mature bodies down there. One thing you can say about Miller and Dunn is neither of them are soft. We would not have been pushed around last saturday like we were if both of them had been playing.

Dunn will probably play this weekend and good on him for earning another try. However when the heat is on I suggest you watch him closely. At the end of the day you will understand what I'm implying.

We're not developing a premiership team. Thats a little ways off. We're developing an elite list, of which we hope to develop a premiership team from.

Dunn is 23 has had six years and 59 games in the AFL. If he cant work it out then how many more years does it take. He gets moved around because he cannot command a position in the team as his own. He does not have to readjust his play he just needs to display the pluck to win the contest ball and to ehhibit the skills required to be an AFL footballer.

Yep and Miller has played 130 games. We definitely know his best output. Can't say the same for Dunn.

He did to, he Imposed himself on the Ball. I hope he does it in the QB game.

I've actually spent this afternoon watching one of my 'Name a Game' matches that I purchased recently. Funnily enough it's the round 6 2006 match Melbourne-v-Geelong on a friday Night at the MCG and it features a young Melbourne player playing his first match, Lyndon Dunn!

Gee for a first gamer he looked good, didn't get a heap of it but kicked 2 goals, set up another, played across half forward and presented really well, especially for a second year youngster.

The sad thing is I reckon this is still one of the best matches I've seen him play, I have no doubt he has a lot of talent but I don't know if it's the FD moving him all over the ground or if it's a lack of confidence but he hasn't really developed as a player that much since this first game.

Fingers crossed his 8 goals last week with Casey can be the ignition for his career that he and us so desperatly need.

Other than a Victorian State Squad i have never ever seen a list that contained any more than half a dozen ELITE players in any given year
