Not an easy job being on the MFC Match Committee these days, for all the right reasons.

It's going to be really hard to keep Joel Mac & Miller out of this week's team based on the VFL reports. Joel has dominated the game with 32 touches and a goal off half-back while Miller has strung together 3 straight weeks of big performances for 10.6 goals in 3 weeks.

Conversely it seems Jetta & Wona are only really getting a good half in and not pushing their form through a full game.

Then you've got to deal with when to bring in Gysberts as well.

Exciting stuff.

Given Bailey's always said that selection will come on the back of consistent performances at Casey, don't be surprised if Miller gets the nod this week. We'd get more out of him than we did PJ.

MacDonald might need another week at Casey, given that Morton's also in line to come back in.

OUT: Bruce (inj), Bate (inj)

Listed as "test" today (18th), so maybe will come up. MacDonald for Bruce would be OK, but would prefer Bate was in.

OUT: Bruce (inj), Bate (inj), Hughes, Johnson, Bartram

IN: Dunn, Cheney, Gysberts, Morton, Wonaeamirri

Surprised more people aren't calling for Dunn to be recalled.

I think we really missed him on Saturday.

Bartram has been a good defender, but it hurts having both him and Rivers rebounding from defence.

Too many times the ball was in his hands when we needed to execute and he couldn't do it.

Surley you are not surprised Keyser, most who post here on Demonland are waiting for the day Dunn is delisted to have a giant Toga party.

I think we missed him last week too. He may frustrate you with some silly [censored] ups from time to time, but i don't think you can fault his endeavour. I beleive he was leading our team in marks before last round, which tells me he has been a good hit-up, release man for us, which we sorley lacked on Saturday. He could have also been used to tag a big mid like Priddis who was killing us, like he tagged Brennan in the Brisbane game.

I would definitely have him back in for PJ, and let him do some ruck duities.

Who do think had been playing and contributing in our side when we have played well this season, that is currently out of the side?

Petterd is an obvious, but won't be back.

Bail definitley.

MacDonald palyed well in our wins(and Pie loss), but also put in a couple of shockers.

Dunn has been serviceable in games in a variety of roles.

On the flip side of this, i think that Rivers and PJ are on the block.

People have short memories.

Just like when PJ was out of the team and some said he was a perfect inclusion due to his wondrous ability to play forward, Dunn makes far too many clangers, has little to no ability to read the play which means when we're defending he's usually in a useless position, doesn't attack the ball, doesn't have much hunger or agression, and doesn't really add anything to the team.

We're better off looking at MacDonald, Morton, Bail, Cheney, McNamara, Jetta, Maric, Wonaeamirri, Spencer and/or Martin.

There is nothing more certain then Morton and Jetta coming in this week and you can add Aussie to that list as well. Cheney will be close but I think with the pace of Ports forwards they might leave him out and keep Bartram in.

In Morton, Jetta, Aussie

Out Bruce(inj), Bennell, Rivers

Michael Newton has never, ever done any of those things any better than what PJ did on the weekend.

I cannot think of a single player at Casey right now who isn't ahead of Newton in every conceivable way.

Has never done a thing at any level, other than grow to a certain height, that gives him any right to a spot in our senior team.

He kicked over ten goals in sandy reserves if i remember correctly, 12 i think it was.

Go Dees

i will have a crack at this one, always hard to pick what the FD is thinking

INS: Morton, Jetta/Wonna, Gysberts, Miller, MacDonald

OUTS: Bate, Bruce, Rivers, Johnson, Hughes

More run is required, we were just to big and slow last week

There's a massive gulf between AFL level and VFL reserves, and that was an age ago. He's got zero credits in the bank.

Why take out Bennell for the indigenous round?

I thought he brought down Lehmans Bank.

To be fair, Newton did take mark of the year in 2007. Bailey should play him in the seniors for next 8 rounds so we can see if he is any good.

Only kidding. Had to write that about Newton before someone else does.

I agree with your INS (all 6 of them!) But, not so sure about the OUTS. Bate & Bruce if they are injured, and possibly Sylvia if he is injured or in a form slump. But the other three to make way? Hmm...!

Can we have 6 INS, and only 3 OUTS??? (LOL)

Guess that's what the Selectors are paid the big bucks for...

Because you can only play one handed footy for so long at some stage you have to learn to put you head over the footy

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
