I used to rate Burgoyne enormously. But it's getting a little hard to ignore the bad things you keep hearing about him. Be interesting seeing where he ends up. Not sure I'd want to pay what they'd be asking... a first rounder... for him.

Not this year, that's for sure.

But he'd be a super fit for the Swans. With Goodes likely to spend much more time playing centre half-forward, they could do with another line-breaker in the midfield.

Without Malceski's influence and Rhyce Shaw playing in defence, Burgoyne could play a very important role in Sydney.

Teams with picks 10-16, who are just short of GF would get a considerable boost to their premiership chances.

We on the other hand are in no position to offer anything for a 27-28 y.o.

Hopefully Sburgoyne wants to move to a Hawthorn or a Essendon and no doubt with their track records a stalemate will occur. Port stands firm again and we get a nice little package in PSD.

    Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill.     Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
