Hankook Tyres - highly recommended

I just had a set of new Hankook tyres fitted to my wifes 4WD.

Just before the MFC announced Hankook as a sponsor, I was in the middle of shopping around for the right tyre v price. (If anyone has done this it is not a great deal of fun).

Upon hearing about Hankook backing the Dee's, I simply logged onto their website, put in my postcode and called ther nearest supplier (the closest was a couple of km's from home in Carnegie). To my great delight, not only did the guy instantly recommend a tyre, but it was nearly HALF THE PRICE of the equivalent Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli or Continental tyres.

The guys who fitted the tyres were also sincerely pleased that I chose Hankook because of MFC association.

I've been happily using the Hankook tyre outlet in Carnegie for many years

Message to any prospective sponsors.

Please factor into your offer the fantastic benefits of getting custom and glowing endorsements from psoters on this site.

The goodwill value of that alone is worth, say an extra ..., well let's say an extra $500k? ;)

But get in quick because at that price the second sponsorship should be snapped up within 24 hours.

is there hankook tyre service anywhere near cranbourne.

I actually brought a set of Hankook's for my Subaru prior to the sponsorship around christmas time. I purchased these through a Independant tyre retailer in Gippsland.

I can safely say that they are a very good tyre, and was rapped when I found out about the sponsorship as I know that the company provide a quality product.

I went from a set of Pirrelli's to the Hankook, and for almost half the price of the Pirrelli I can safely say that it is of very similar quality.

For me it was a partnership that was 'meant to be'...

Gippy

The Hankook website is a good start but it only has our biggest dealers and doesn't cover all areas. There are hundreds of other Hankook dealers around, so if you are looking for one in your area feel free to email me and I'll put you on to one.

Remember, L.D. Wholesale Tyres are the actual sponsor of the club, not Hankook itself (we are the distributors of Hankook for Vic/Tas)

Which raises an interesting possibility since the MFC plays in a national competition and it therefore follows that there must be Hankook distributors in every other state who potentially could benefit to an extent from this sponsorship, not to mention the parent company in Korea.

So why couldn't the club put together an additional sponsorship package to cater for the interstate Hankook distributors?

Could be worth a few hundred grand to top up our total sponsorship package for the Hankook brand nationally to say, a round $1m?

Probably worth more in normal times but we are going through a GFC. :)

Just discovered a Hankook dealer here on the Gold Coast at Nerang.

Sure probably more but never noticed it before and all of a sudden there it was staring me in the face.

I wont need new tyres for some time as i have a new car but will be recommending them to family and friends.

The exact point that WJ was making. The dealer in Nerang will get the benefit of Melbourne's sponsorship with the Victorian/Tasmanian dealer but the club should consider making proposals to the WA, SA, NSW, Qld and territory dealers as well as Hankook itself regarding some sort of additional sponsorship deal to embrace them as well.

in the current climate, and given that we already have hankook on our jumpers or website or whatever, i cant imagine other companies forking out money for exposure that they are getting regardless.

hankook1,

can you recommend the best way for us to support L.D. wholesale tyres, rather than the hankook brand only?

FWIW, it's a good suggestion and hopefully, will be followed up.

I'm glad you're not on the board with that negative attitude.

Did you know something WJ? ;)

its not a negative attitude, its a realistic attitude.

while it WOULD have been a good idea, if it was followed up prior to the signing, no company in there right mind would decided to fork out extra money for a sponsorship that already exists, that they are getting advertising from, just because they benefit.

its like asking nike to pay you to wear their shoes after you purchased a new pair.

As we only distribute Hankook products, the best way to support LD's is to buy Hankook tyres deanox. Hankook sales in NSW, QLD, WA won't help us directly, but the stronger the brand gets nationally the better we will be.

Our relationship with Hankook is very strong and very positive, this sponsorship is just something we did off our own bat.

cheers for the reply.

you can be sure there will be hankook tyres all round at my place as they get replaced over the next 3 years.

thanks again.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
