Blues snare another former Demon

Martin Pike has been appointed coach of Carlton VFL affiliate Northern Bullants reserves for 2009. Will make a great cultural addition over there and hopefully he will see a fair bit of Chris Johnson and Matthew Robert Warnock.

Saints will be spewing about missing that opportunity for some more cultural enlightment!

Robbie Warnock, dude, Robbie Warnock at Carlton.

We've got Matthew - you know, the one who has actually had to do a job on his own for whole games, rather than just look good in flashes.

;)

Someone's jealousssssssssss

Pike may well turn out to be a better pick up than either Warnock or Johnson .

He was a good , agressive footballer , who played a lot of games and was in 4 premiership teams .

His experience and agressive attitude will be good for young blokes . Something we have very little of these days .

We gave him away when he was a very good player . I hope he doesn't haunt to much as an opposition coach .

Have a look at Pikes record coaching Hastings, I dont think we have too much to worry about....

Notwithstanding his good fortune at being in the right place at the right time for 4 flags and his capable on field football ability, off field he is a perennial nutter who blotted his book ultimately at 4 clubs. I'd be careful what he dispenses to the younger players.

Yes,this is the local league I actually follow. Absolutely shocking record at Hastings

Martin Pike a coach LOL

Martin Pike a coach LOL

yeah, how the hell did that happen?? Hew was good on the field, but other than that he was a cancer every club he went to.

Thats WHY he was allowed to move on so much

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
