Brent Prismall Chooses Essendon - or does he?

Featured Replies

He probably didn't get hassled by a nuff nuff Essendon supporter at the pub, asking him where he will be playing next year. B)

:D

nothiong has happened, and we have better picks to suit than essendon

we want him so we arent just going to let him go to essendon now that we've heard they want him too.

that's understandable but I just don't fancy going after players who have apparently said they would rather another club.

man it would be so good if we could get him in the PSD

only reason he is being talked about is they are the only ones to have put up a deal at this stage. Is actually not fussed where he goes and is not about money. All he wants to do is play footy.

Maybe people should take a pill before they read something on BigFooty or in the paper.

If Melbourne want him I have no doubt they could get him and he would be happy to play at Melbourne.

And just so you know my source is his mother who I work with.

Trade time, to me, seems like shopping at Cash Converters.

It's all crap, you don't care what you get, as long as you get something.

Putting aside your obvious bias, would you want to play for us?

Give me a single good reason why you would choose this club over ANY of the others if you had the choice?

you get September off each year :P

Here you go Tingles. From melbournefc.com.au. Again not something to get too excited about, but info kind of contradicting what we read this morning.

"Hopefully, we'll hear tonight [Tuesday] on Brad Green and Brent Prismall."

And Connolly said Melbourne was still right in the hunt for Fremantle ruckman Robbie Warnock and Geelong midfielder Prismall.

He confirmed that a number of clubs were chasing the emerging Cat.

The above quote to me suggests that offers from clubs have been rolling in for him to consider. Perhaps the Bombers were first and ours went in late arvo yesterday. Lets ride it out and see.

I have a great feeling about Prismall. I don't give a [censored] what anyone says about him, he just looks as though he belongs with us.

I reckon our list is great and will be bolstered HARD by another SIX (or 7?) top 20 picks including 1,1, and 2 over the next 13 months

We will be flogging everyone in a few years

That's why I'd come to the MFC

I'm sure some people aren't as short sighted as most. We have had 2 years down near or on the bottom and we are working at turning this around by concentrating on a young core gorup of players. He may see himself being part of this core, I hope he does, would love to have him.

i believe every thing i read in these forums, prismall was a certainty ....... wasn't he??.......... dam, silly me.

'Bailey's Babies', don't tell me you'd give up 17 or 19 for a player who had full knee reconstruction just weeks ago.

Yes, we are on the same page.

no- i'd give up 35 for him.

but hopefully PSD.

if we get more picks from CJ and green, then 19 won't be too bad if we dont get warnock

Yep 35 or PSD is the most I'd give, Seems Lovett would need to take a 100k cut from his Essendon contract to play for geelong or get 300k to play for Sydney.

So even if Geelong is his prefered destination (reported by Herald sun in todays paper) 150k difference is massive, especially when that is actually double what the cats can offer, and I'd be tipping they could not back load his contract either.

If you want a cheaper version of Prismall, recruit his brother Rhyce - he was a highly rated youngster and should have been drafted in 2005/2006 on talent alone.

It's a shame he couldn't get it together off the ground.

He looked quite good in the champs. Were his off field issues well documented?

They sure were.

They were VERY public, almost sent him ... and his mates to jail after one fine afternoon in Werribee.

You joking?

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
