Let me guess, that last one was Yze magic? :P

Haha, I think you've nailed it.

"If i was an ordinary player wanting to keep my job at a club that may cease to exist - 1 weeks wage becomes an investment in my eyes."

Seems a perfectly realistic thing from my standpoint..well within reason Id say Graham

Yeah I think it was mate. That thread got outta control in the end. I had a light-hearted crack about Daniher's triple supannuation bonanza and it all turned to custard after that.

There's a lot of people over there that plain and simple hate each others guts sadly.

I think the most salient point you have made in this thread is the one in your signature.

I'm surprised Yze_Magic didn't make a comment asking why Cameron Bruce didn't individually donate $10,000 to the MFC?

Either way the MFC players DID donate some money (they should be applauded for that) and for Brock McLean to donate $10,000 more of his OWN money shows a lot about his generous and loyal character. The bloke has made a few mistakes but overall I think he is a pure CHAMPION! I believe he must have Red & Blue pumping through his veins too!

I know people say its not a good thing to do but I would sign up Brock McLean as a Demon for the rest of his career and seriously consider him in the race to become a future MFC Captain just for his kindness and genorosity.

He's a pretty good player too... ;)

You've got my vote! If Brock wasn't out for the season with injury i'd say the coaches would've put him straight in, but as it is i think he needs a full season just in the leadership group.

Well done Brock! No point trying to cynical about his motives, just accept it for what it is, $10,000 from a passionate supporter. Whether he can afford it or not, $10K is a hell of a lot of money from someone who is not obligated, for any cause.

exactly. should also be noted that whilst a.f.l players get paid very well, they also have a short amount of time to earn the money they do unless they have other career paths, which many don't. brilliant gesture from brock.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
