You people who want to trade Cam Bruce are crazy! I cannot believe your suggestions. He is a true Demon. Off the rookie list and has proved his worth. Played in the correct position he is an Almighty Gun! Suggest he be played half-forward who also plays in the arc. Proven goal kicker and match winner. Besides - No club will give up a low draft pick for an older player. You are dreaming! Even of his worth! MARK MY WORDS ON THESE PREDICTIONS (They will happen): Brockie for Captain. Watts to Dees at Pick 3. Yes Pick 3! Dees will not finish bottom and will be above both the Eagles and Dockers. Draft order will be 1. Rich to Eagles 2. NicNat to Dockers and 3. Watts to the DEMONS! Will hopefully add Warnock from the Dockers. Go Dees! TELL ME I AM WRONG!

I like that one! Spot on. Even looks like me.

- Rich looks like he will be a gun! Western Australian though. Dont need a Judd situation down the track. Will be an absolute cracker though in 2 to 3 years.

- NikNat was my preferred choice for his freakish talents and his marketability. Will pull crowds through the gates and increase our membership substantially short-term. But cannot rely on any one player to pull us out of the doldrums. Western Australian also.

- Watts looks the best fit. Key forward who looks the goods and could be of the calibre of a Jonathan Brown. Is a Melbournian and will be staying put.

Would prefer in order Watts, Rich, NikNat.

Spot on! I think. Other possibility is Eagles bottom, then Demons, and Dockers. I do prefer Watts over all of them though. Warnock would be great. And I am hearing alot about Prismall! I like his game and toughness. Limited opportunity at Geelong. Would be very similiar to recruiting Moloney. Without the injuries though. And they both have worn the No. 32 at the Cats.

If we miss on Watts and draft Rich or NikNat. I think the Dees should have a crack at recruiting Quinten Lynch from the Eagles. He can be out of favour at times. I think he works hard for a big man. Is a great mark and most of the time kick also. A real target up forward! And is only 25.

Here's a bold prediction for you all to chew on.

Valenti will be better than Jones.

Hmm. Interesting.... I like your hunch. ;)

Jones has a limited game. Still be a good footballer though.

Good post..

I was all for trading Bruce though, he is just not consistent enough, and he is one of few very tradeable players we have!

But if he stays, great, we'll only look at a trade that is perfect for us!

Warnock, cant wait, I agree no matter whether we are 1,2 or 3rd pick, we'll take Watts!!

Cant see us above Freo though, so 15th IMO!

Im also hearing alot about targeting Prismall, which is a great idea, he's what we need..

Lynch, nah thanks, not a bad idea though, i just dont see it happening!

IMO:

We'll have: Watts, Warnock, Prismall, and hopefully another tall forward under 24 from another club!

Valenti, Grimes, Maric, Morton to be real impact players by next year!

Why is everyone convinced West Coast would take Rich?

I would argue they need KPP forward as much as anyone.

They haven't had a functioning forward line... ever

Their midfield won their premierships.

And we think if a Nick Riewoldt type player was available, they would take another midfielder?

I dont see it

Because they won a premiership without a decent forward, but now they are 15th having lost their two best midfielders.

He's 28 and isn't going to get any better. Trade Bruce for a top 10 pick.

You must be on another planet! No club is going to give up a top 10 or even a top 30 pick for Bruce.

The wierd thing about Cam Bruce is that I reckon other clubs rate him higher than we do. Usually it's the other way around. I guarantee that 90% of opposition club supporters have never heard of Cale Morton, for example.

Every footy supporter i know knows who Cale Morton is and none of them are demon supporters. what kind of footy supporters do u know? clearly ones who dont follow very closely.

neways.... id trade bruce for pick 10-20

Your another dreamer! You wouldnt get anything inside pick 30 for him. Clubs want young players or absolute stars.

To be honest, I just picked a name. Maybe you're right, but I still think that we rate our own more highly than other clubs do - and that's to be expected. It's just that I've heard opposition supporters and also commentators praise Brucey far higher than I think he deserves.

Bruce would not get a pick in the top 17-18, maybe pick 20..

But imo its a good point that other clubs rate him higher than we do, as they see his best, not his worst..

I love Cam, always have, but if we can better our structure, or weak part of our list (key forward) by trading him then there is no doubt he is trade bait, for the right deal..

Id say something like Prismall, which may push it, but Bruce would add more cream to geelong, Prismall will leave IMO, to get a real crack elsewhere..

Or for an established key forward of similiar age, Kossi for example..

My thought is to go after Tim Boyle, I really rate him, and he could also want more of a go elsewhere! far to good a player to be running round 4 Box HIll!!

Bruce for Boyle would be a good 1, maybe they would add a pick (35-45)??

Hope that makes my point..

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
