Hamish Blake. New #1 ticket holder?

Featured Replies

Was driving past junction oval tonight and saw Hamish Blake (aka the Hamish and Andy Show if anyone doesn't know and is a social delinquint) filming a sketch with Jim Stynes, Matthew Bate, Clint Bartram and Jared Rivers. He was decked out in Melbourne gear and at first actually mistaked him for Cale Morton.

he is the funniest most dumbest guy i have ever met!!

get him on

I don't think he's actually a demon.

It'll just be a skit.

Yeah... They may be just picking on the dees. We're bottom placed so the comedians, like Trev on TFS find us easiest to pick on.

Should definitely get him on board.

He is the perfect face to attract younger supporters to our club, and he is absolutely massive at the moment with the radio and Rove and so on.

He's mentioned on his show that he supports Melbourne, also mentioned in this interview.

Maybe he's one of those closeted Demon fans...

It'd be good to get him on board.

Watching that vid - he's obviously got very little idea about football and they're playing on it - but who cares, he's the funny one!

Imagine if, just to mix it up a bit (no offense to our brilliant trumpeter) Hamish did the pre-match talk on the ground during the Youth Game we're planning on having.

Nothing like turning tragedy (i.e-our season), into comedy!

Does the trumpeter do the pre-match talk? I can't recall the name, but read it was a media 'personality' who fills in on 3AW.

No, but we should really replace the trumpeter and 3AW bloke with a live band and Hamish Blake if we want to attract youth to the game.

dumbest?

just saw them on the show.... wasnt bad took the [censored] out of us abit but not bad publicity at alll... apparently he signed up which is good too

Fair enough. You didn't mention anything about a live band in your initial post though :P

fantastic by the boys, both champions and good on stynes and garry to get Hamish on board.

Bahahah that was a laugh :)

It was good, i mean he showed that he doesn't really know much about the club (calling Bailey "bisket"!). But any publicity is great, and he was able to make light of our situation. If the allies win next tuesday i hope he attibutes it to his training with Melbourne!

How funny was it when he was trying to scratch off Lyon's name on the locker!

Just saw him on the Footy Show....

Didn't know $hit about the Melbourne Football Club.... But I suppose any publicity is good publicity :o

but due to that video on youtube someone posting above he stated he is a melbourne supporter back in march this year, so maybe its just part of his comedy.

I'd say he 'goes for Melbourne' without following the game very closely.

I'd say thats the case.

I missed him on TFS as I was out, but hopefully it gets youtubed or something.

I also hope the club are able to 'use' him in some capacity.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
