If Hauritz belongs out there it is with the ball. He wont get an easier shot at a Test ton. Flat deck, pedestrian one string attack, village green fielders. Clarke should have batted out there. I saw little from Hauritz's bowling that has changed today.

If I recall correctly the last mightwatchman to hit a ton for Australia were

Tony Mann 1978 vs India - hit 108(?) in Perth could not take a wicket as a bowler (leg spin) and got dropped next test.

Jason Gillespie 2005(?) vs B'desh - hit 240(?) n.o. and was dropped soon after because he could not cut it anymore as a bowler.

Hauritz should not rest on his laurels.

Now I know Pakistan is beset with political and cultural problems including civil war and terrorism but...... is this the most uninspiring team of cricketers I have seen. Their performance has been overall and flat as a pancake and I struggle to find one highlight. Aamer Mohammed at allegedly 17 is a find and could be something in the future but is too young and to raw to be thrown on the Test oven at this stage. I worry that unless treated properly the poor kid will be broken and burnt out by the time he is 21.

I was worried what the Windies were serve up this summer and was pleasantly surprise but Pakistan (even allowing for the two last minute injuries) look a fair cut below the standard. I hope they can muscle something up that is more competitive going forward than what they have shown so far in this Test.

Never said Hauritz should rest on his Laurels at all, & yes he got the best conditions. But he did make the most of them which is all he could do-Tomorrow with the ball will be an important day in Nathan's career i hope, as Hilditch basically gave him the Rocket last week.

I saw him smile a couple of times today, and just thought maybe he is finally starting to believe he can do it, which i and many of us have doubted.

Their fielding is easily the worst I have seen in a long long time, bordering on careless. Then to watch over 2 hours of cricket on a perfect batting pitch at a run rate of about 1.5 until their skipper had a crack, was as boring as it gets.

Thankfully, I was close enough to Bay 13 to be entertained by the Yobbo`s, and the streaker`s effort to run straight across the pitch, evade about 10 security guards and almost make it to the members was the highlight of the day!

A reason i prefer to watch cricket on the idiot box. The camera close ups make it that much better IMO

Yeah, I love my cricket but I was bored for large chunks of the match. I think I picked my days wrong because today seemed far more enjoyable with the Paki`s seemingly more interested and plenty of wickets falling. I think if I had headphones on y`day listening to Kerry Okeefe it would have been far more enjoyable!

I can understand why people would prefer to watch it live on TV!

Welcome to the 21century and thev era of slow lifeless flat wickets which prevent any proper battle between bat and ball. I would also add Yousuf and Umar aside the batting is pretty brittle.

Geez, it must have been bad. For mine I cant stand people who run onto a sporting arena during a sporting event. They should double the fines and give security free reign on them once caught.

Same today. Wickets fell, and the occasional 4/6 helped, but I had more fun baiting my WC mate about the Dees future window raining on the coasters parade. Good to see a few Dees guernseys in the crowd. Shocking to see one Port guernsey. Shocking.

I saw a bloke in a Freo guernsey that copped a bit which was excellent. It is pretty cool to see so much footy gear on though. Saw quite a few Dees caps.

Boy, how lucky was Watto today! Shoulda been gone on 99!

Chris Rogers is a very good player and would prob be the opening batsman for most countries but he is a victem as a guy that is only seen as an opening batsman and thats it. unfortunatly for him the aussies have been so settled up top for so long that aside from injuries he has barely had a look in, and the one chance he really had was when all the retirements happened and there was a sudden push for young and along comes Phillip Hughes. It sucks and so does his timing he makes all his runs at the same time that our current openers do as well, Him and Hodge (although he is way to arrogant) are prob 2 of the biggest hard luck stories in cricket in a long time.

As much as I like ponting he is abit old school in terms of what to do when you win the toss, The old days of batting at all cost is gone. With guys like Johnson, bollinger and siddle who can all swing the ball at pace we should have bowled
