thoughts on Beamer and Jones cleaning up Buddy at the start of the match... i thought it was great... set the tone for the rest of the side... Jones gave the free away, but it showed we had come to play and that hawthorn would have to earn their kicks...

something you don't see happen much in footy anymore...

things like that make you go to the footy.. and make you stay even when you lose as you know they are seriously having a crack...

even thought we lost how much prode did you guys feel then the first few games..i couldnt find a big enough rock to hide under..

i think everyone had a dip today .. it just showed you what they are capable of.. and in some cases what they arent capable of...

anyone have fottage of some of that stuff? i was at the ground but up the other end, it was very clear...

who normally do the videos around here? perhaps a highlights package is in order of some of the bumps and tackles, some of the unrewarded decisions and the 50meters so we can have another look? lol

ewok,

think that because carroll did it and then cannot back it up by playing tough, that they dont rate him....

whereas both jones and moloney are both hard and will put their heads over the ball when required to do so....

difference in toughness!!

would make one but i dont know where to get the footage and dont have a lot of time

Not so. Carroll plays tough.

Carroll copped ridicule because he played the tough stuff at the start of the game, then the team got absolutely flogged. And it doesn't help that he looks like a mass murderer.

If the MFC had got flogged on Sunday, Jones and Molone would have looked as stupid as Carroll usually has.

Get a grip.

The point is aggression , intimidation and letting the opposition know we wont be pushed around is what most melb supporters want. Hawthorn are one of the toughest sides around and on Sunday we served it up to them. I was very proud of the entire team on Sunday and you can`t ask for much more than that.

My point is, you weren't there, and in another thread you said you didn't see the game, now you're passing judgement on something that happened which makes your post irrelevant

Hey deanox. Here it is on bigpond video http://bigpondvideo.com/AFL/49217

At the game I thought we had targeted franklin as a premeditated plan but looking at the replay it shows Jamar copping one in the center, Jones helped out with some muscle, the ball makes it way to hawks forward line where after a clearing kick from Moloney, franklin takes him down, Moloney gets up and takes franklin down with payback, franklin gets up and Jones sits him back down again hard.

Good tough stuff!! Was great to see at the time, spine tingling excitement, and more so now that I know we were looking after ourselves physically, stamping ourselves on the game after an attempt to rough us up, I was straight up and out of my seat with excitement

And while your looking at that check out Dean Baileys press conference http://bigpondvideo.com/AFL/49633. He alludes to the lack of reward from the umpires from our tackling efforts.

Love the explanations too "If a couple of things had gone our way"... "I thought our guys tackled well, pinned the arms, 180°'s, 320°'s, 720°'s occurred and I thought they might have been rewarded"

Good to see and hear Dean sticking up for our guys in the media in such a calm yet determined and focussed manner.

The journey has begun and it is going to be a really fun ride

Basically what Aaron Hamill did his whole career.

I definitely saw the irony in the Steve Johnson clash which basically ruined his career

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
