  1. From his letter to the AFL: "The tribunal and match review panel are single-handedly destroying the game. You are making it impossible to play in good spirit, you're making it impossible to adjudicate and you're not far off making it impossible to support". To write that, I would think he has the blessing of his parents, Gus and probably mfc since the Brayshaw family is very close to the club. It is about time someone in the industry called this out. No way the servile AFL media has the courage to do that. Go Hamish 👏 💪 👏 !!!
  2. I don't really want Carlton to win. But. I do want Coll to lose. A loss this week closes their chances of a top 4 finish. 🙏🤞. And, with such a poor %, a loss could keep them out of the 8 and miss finals altogether !!! 🙂
  3. Its times like this I really miss 'Gus and Gawny'. They would be all over 'Mouse Pack' news! Edit: As Gus is still working with the club, I wonder if they could resurrect the podcast, even if occassionally!
  4. Saw this on mfc website about TMac mcdonalds-full-circle-back-to-the-future It is terrific to see him fit, healthy and playing good footy again. This comment from him caught my eye: "It’s a growing group of young Demons taking their place in the senior side that is giving McDonald that excitement about what’s ahead. “I think they call themselves the Mouse Pack,” he says. “Those six or seven of those boys. Van Rooyen, Judd (McVee), Howesy. All that sort of group that got drafted together and just hilarious. I checked that year's (2021) draft and counted 5: MSD - Turner. Nathional Draft - van Rooyen, Howes, Woewodin. Rookie Draft: McVee so I guess there are a few others in the 'pack'. @kev martin @WalkingCivilWar and other track watchers, have you heard or seen anything about the 'Mouse Pack'? Anyone else have any ideas what the name means and who the other one or two players in the pack might be? Love that group growing together just as Brayshaw, Petracca, Salem, Oliver et al did. The 'Mouse Pack' is our future. Great base for mateship and helping keep interstate players here. And of course, build another premiership team. Playing footy with one's mates - does it get any better than that.
  5. LOL. I noticed Eddie's lie ... couldn't see his face but I swear he didn't blink. I know a 4yo who has no problem telling a little white lie while looking you directly in the eye ... but they are so cute at that age ...
  6. I watched AFL360 a few weeks ago when Petracca was on and they invited young Eddie in with him. It turns out Eddie had been at training the previous day. I've just done a DL search of threads in which he is discussed and the ones below came up with clips of Eddie at training and/or on AFL 360. The second thread was a 'Family Day' training session.
  7. Eddie's training adventures continue. In the club rooms last week. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C50LlZkxNfC/?igsh=bWxkZ3h5Mm1jMGox My favourite moments: How Melksham teaches Eddie to 'look me in the eye' when shaking hands.🤩 Jvr introduces himself as 'Jacob'. Eddie hesitates for a confused moment and says: 'Hi Roo'. 🥰 Ah, the joy of childhood. a big hug for Petracca 😍 And how Petracca invites him in to 'meet the boys' - I suspect a friendship forged on AFL 360. Very impressed he knows all the players by sight and remembers their names. Note: If the above link doesn't work go to instagrams on mfc site. Apologies if posted elsewhere
  8. I agree that Oliver is being ‘transformed’ but my take is a little different in that he will be a better player than he already is as he feels more loved, and valued as the person he is warts and all. One aspect of the transformation is he always shunned the limelight. But look at him now! Chosen to model our ANZAC jumper – a great honour and implicitly equating him with the ANZAC spirit: Courageous, mate ship, sacrifice. Oliver has those in spades. Recently he has conducted several postgame interviews even when not BOG and has embraced the role of representing the club with humility and courage. His confidence is growing with the media showing him respect and love. They are implicitly saying no one cares about his past foibles. His self belief as a person is noticeably growing. My sense it is a deliberate strategy by the AFL, the club and the media. If so, kudos to them all. I’m loving watching Oliver mature as a person and come what may in his football I have little doubt he will be in a better place generally. Like you, just seeing him happy brings me joy.
  9. Haha!!! Its all part of the AFL's 'special herbs and spices' they use whenever they want to make something up that the rules don't allow. The confusion is in part because the AFL/MRO flip flops between assessing the action vs assessing/imputing the impact.
  10. There is no grade below careless (which like you I think is a problem). An act is deemed to be either 'careless' or 'intentional'. This is the structure the MRO works to (unless he uses his 'discretion' 🤨) Source: AFL
  11. If it wasn't for the automatic 'medium impact' classification or if there was an 'accidental' classification, all the chat about eyes on the ball, bracing for impact, self protection etc would not be relevant. Toby, Kozzie and many others would just be fined.
  12. It was graded as careless. Accidental no longer exists. If it did then Toby and many others would get off/fine
  13. The problem is the rule: ' head high contact is automatically 'medium impact' thus one week. Then last week the Tribunal 'used its discretion' that the Cameron case was on the 'lower end of medium'. A correct decision. But it then added the 'good guy' BS. Without the 'good guy' BS the MRO could have used 'lower end of medium' precedent to assess Toby. A can of worms has been created.
  14. Being a Brownlow favourite trumps Pies' interests ... 🙂 Gleeson finds obscure reasons to support his decisions ... he should go. The Tribunal is a joke. It needs change.
