Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

said before left doggies with nothing

drafted a forward line that failed badly

it consisted of johnson, eagleton, hall, and akker, this line couldnt run out of site on a foggy night

they were creamed because of no forward chase

ask thier fans how the new coach is liking the rebuild

eade refused to take a hit on young players while the dogs were still UP

he tried the terry wallace draft ing rule and it failed

that what i based my statement on

NEXT

Most Sacked coaches in this modern era seem to enjoy some degree of success before they are moved on and it seems for many of the same reasons that you have attributed to Eade.. They all start well but eventually 'wear out their friendships'.. Ratten, Craig to name two ... Melbourne Football Club Coaches seem to be the exception to this pattern..(bad choices).. Oh and thanks for at least trying to explain the basis for your previous post.. :)

Rocket gets the bronze for mine.

Silver medalist as far as our targets go is Choco due to his flag, long term succes with Port, his ability to develop young players and his ability to sell the club.

Gold medalist is Roos for the hope he'd bring to the club and all things that Choco could also bring. Don't forget he ended the Swans 72 year drought. We're about to hit 50 years!

Probably agree with this. Wouldn't be disappointed with any of them though.

This is great - we seem to have options in regards to experienced coaches and guys who actually seem to want the job. Bit of a change from last time!

I can see the attractions of Eade as coach. He has worked in environments that weren't ideally resourced and does know how to motivate teams not playing in front of huge crowds. I think working at the Pies also will have helped him see how one of the best organisational clubs goes about it. I listened to a piece on the ABC where Lindsey Gilbee talked about how Rocket first came to the Dogs and about how he persuaded him to stay at the Dogs because he rated him as a player. I think we could do with some of that. He does have his faults, but surely he is one of the top candidates.

That leaves 5. Eade, 6. Ratten and 7. Ayres as First three, at this stage because 1, 2 and 3 are currently unavailable and Worsfold Not what we want Never makes a move.

Rocket is my preferred choice (we should have gotten him last time). He is demanding yet structures his game plan to the strengths of his list. He has rebuilt clubs before (a lot of the donkey work was done in Sydney before he arrived but he was the man who turned the Dogs around) and he plays a pretty straight bat when it comes to the media without going overboard. Plus he has coached before and quite successfully I might add. Choco might work out but I worry about some of his tendencies i.e. falling out with club officials, making brash statements in the media.

Ideally, I want Paul Roos but I don't think we will land him so it's Eade for mine.

Obviously you covered your ears when Paul Roos was asked about the job on TV last night soxy?

The Melbourne of 2012 and so far in 2013 was just unacceptable so for that reason alone im happy Neeld (what has this got to do Rodney Eade you say,i'll get to that!) is gone.To give credit where it's due Mark did bring players like Mitch Clark and Chris Dawes to the club but the task of turning this grand old club around was too big a task for a rookie coach. It's quite fitting isn't it that Neeld's final game as coach was played out in front of a silent MCG.Even the Collingwood supporters didn't feel that it was a win worth celebrating. There was no triumphant chanting of the Coolingwoood Cooolingwood chant. We only beat one proper club Essendon during the Neeld era.The next coach will be an experienced one. It's about time that the the MFC stops becoming a training centre for rookie coaches.I would be delighted if we get any out of Matthews, Roos, Clarko and Choco Williams.I would accept Brett Ratten as well who turned Carlscum around from being a rabble to playing finals footy.Im a huge fan of Rodney Eade though. He did a good job at the Swans and he turned the Western Bulldogs into a team that the bigger sides feared.Rockett said that on the day he first arrived at the Whitten Oval that the club was at rock bottom and the players confidence was shattered. It sounds like this is an ideal job for Mr Eade so and he wants it!I also think Rockett is our most realistic option.Yeah he hasn't coached a side to a flag but we have enough to do just getting competitive at the moment and Rodney Eade would make us a competitive team that no one would relish playing.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
